Poll question: Photoshoppers...
I've a few landscape photographs.

I came perchance onto a filter that converts images into 'infrared' style images.

It's way cool and, unlike real infrared film or camera lens filters, it's easy to correct mistakes.

Would you consider it for real work?

I've played with the eval version and will get some examples up shortly...

(my computer had also rebooted unexpectedly... not sure why...)

2. A Filter Or Plug-In For....?
Or are you admitting that the 95% of us Windoze users have something you could use for a change?

I'll leave the evil laughs to others if you don't mind a barely contained smirk from time to time.

4. Who said I don't use Winbloat apps?
Just not the OS. :-)

If Adobe makes Photoshop/Elements for Linux, I am so there.

But if Gimp gets there first, Adobe can go bankrupt. Their prices are ludicrous... they even bought out Syntrillium for their CoolEdit product, renamed it to something dumb, then upped the price by 100%. x(

7. Hey, I'm Not Arguing
I'd vote for open source myself If I had a "Geek for Dummies" book to go along with the required and inevitable "open source" forum it would require.

There are only three programs I like that that run on XP and only one that is really necessary which happens to be a CAD program.

I agree 100% with you on Adobe and Bill Gate$' Micro$haft Empire though.

5. More info needed please
I need to SEE what you are talking about... I assume you're talking about a Photoshop filter. What's the name of the filter? Program specifications? Got a link?

If you have used Adobe Photoshop for a while, or similar programs, you'll notice that it is not difficult to rotate the color (isothermal involution) the to create the effect that I assume you speak of.

I use Mac OSX Panther/UNIX, so if it concerns my system I might be interested.

thanks

8. Thanks
Though, for me it's not worth $34.95. I can get this same effect just using color variations/inversions, etc. in the program itself, plus there are dozens of free plug-ins available if you spend sometime searching on the net. I assume this goes for the PC version of Photoshop as well.
