5. Friend says Christian symbol is a fish because the Christian religion
is so fishy. Makes sense to me. I don't trust what it's turned into.

6. I'm a western Christian liberal
with a degree in history specializing in early christianity from one of the top Universities in the country.

i do not consider Western Christianity fucked up. There are some problematic things about it, but not any that aren't resolvable.

8. If they don't specify and speak in blanket terms
than I will assume they are making a blanket indictment.

9. Heard a good show discussing the many rejected books and why
certain anonymous books were attributed to certain writers. I am personally fond of/interested in the Thomas Bible and the Jefferson Bible (to me just as inspired as any). Jefferson was a really interesting/thinking person - a real patriot - even if I don't always agree with his thinking.

11. I always like to remind southern baptists about that
They never believe me. They worship the Bible more than Jesus.

13. I watched a few minutes about the book of Enoch
about some giants born of mortal women and fallen angels. So the head fallen angel has to be bound, and somehow that's like burying nuclear waste in Nevada. Perhaps it would have seemed less nonsensical if I'd been watching from the beginning.

14. Fascinating stuff
I had only the most vague idea of the other texts and was really rather startled to learn just how arbitrary the decisions were to compile what we consider to be a "complete" Bible.

Not so suprised to hear that the text with strong women was excised. That's pretty predictable.
