1. It's the Venga Boys! (they are actually girls)
The song is the The Venba Bus (and Venga is pronounced "Benga") I love that song!

3. The performers are "girls"?
My son and I were trying to figure out what troubled both of us about the "old man"--and both of us said, at the same time, "That's not a man."

I sort of hate the commercials, sort of find them completely compelling.

2. I liked the song
until I found out it wasn't just a song made by/for six flags. Now the song just sounds so cheezy to me. No offense - my husband loves it.

5. You may hate it, but you REMEMBER it....
For better or worse, it grabbed your attention, and you remember it. This is what advertising is all about.

9. I hate&remember it, but I also hate "amusement parks"
So this is sticking a memorable commercial in my head for something I have absolutely no intention of buying.

Now I feel like doing the geezer dance.

15. You hate amusement parks? Me too...
Hate might be overstating the case a little, but I can think of a lot better ways to spend my time and money than waiting in line to take a two to three minute spin on a ride, only to do it again, over and over and over all day.

10. Stop watching TV!
Would be the easiest way to lower your blood pressure. Corporate Amerika wants to be irritating since that sticks in your memory longer.

But from a marketing standpoint it is identifiable however annoying the song and that freaky man are.

17. Ahh, lighten up folks, I think it is sort of fun... (even though I have no
intention of going to Six Flags or any amusement park). It has been overplayed and getting a little old, now, but watching an old geezer get everyone to have fun is not a bad ad campaign I think. It plays against all the sterotypes we tend to get on the elderly--especially old men (who we have been conditioned to think of as grouchy old sedentary "stick-in-the muds").

I like the song, too.

21. It's one of the worst ad campaigns in the history of advertising.
And that's saying quite a lot.

Sure, those commericals grab people's attention. But I think they're counterproductive. I have a lot less respect for a company who would actually approve such horrible advertising,

22. If I were President, I would call for a
tactical nuclear strike on the offices of whoever conceived of and oversaw the creation of this abomination. Am I making clear the depths of my disdain for this videocrime against humanity?
