Who has been driving the same car for the longest time? |
|
Just curious how often folks buy new cars and who's still driving the same old jalopy they picked up ten or twenty years ago.
Me, I'm still driving the same '86 Dodge Ram PU I purchased new for something like 9-10,000. Runs great and have never had a bit of engine trouble (knock on wood) but she'll be replaced when someone puts out a dependable hybrid pickup. Just a bit of advice though -- don't buy a used Dodge Ram like mine (mid 80's) or you'll find out just what can happen when you buy a vehicle with a PLASTIC gas tank that cannot be replaced!

7. 10 years with this incarnation |
|
My '94 Toyota pickup; 4 cylinder, 5 speed, no extras. 208,000 miles and going great. I'm about to get another, and turn this one over to my youngest son.
The previous incarnation, a '79 'yota pu, did 350,000 miles. And would have done more; it was still running reliably when that same youngest son drove it into the side of a mountain and bent the frame in '99.
I wish Toyoto would come out with a hybrid version.
