Thanks everyone! I got to see F-9/11 today with your help. |
|
My city of 70,000 said they probably wouldn't get it in because it was limited release. But everyone in other cities made it so popular and profitable that it is showing now in my town!
I found out about it right before the 1:15pm matinee, so I made it to the first show of the day. There were probably only about 50 people there. They laughed at Shrub and clapped about firing Rumsfeld and a few other comments like that, and then again at the end. I think there were a few Repubs checking it out ("Where did the money come from to make this film?" etc), but they stayed to themselves.

1. If you would please... |
|
Take your friends to see the movie again. Offer to pay if some are reluctant... :)

2. Don't feel bad about there being "only" 50 people in attendence... |
|
Most of the time when I see a movie, there are at most a couple dozen people there. And multiply your attendence by 1000 screens (or more) across the country, and you'll see that there are tens of thousands of newly enlightened voters every single day.
When the movie opened, there were only two theaters in Oklahoma City showing it, now there are four. And Tulsa was the only other town in Oklahoma showing it during the opening weekend. But it's now showing in Enid, Stillwater, and Shawnee. Safe to say it's pretty easy for 99% of the population to get to a showing now.

3. I stopped by my theater today and one of the shows sold out |
|
There is a Regal theater in the mall where I volunteer to help get cats adopted. When my shift was done I decided to stop by the theater to see if 9/11 was having a viewing soon. The show that had started 30 minutes earlier WAS SOLD OUT!!! Sure, some might say this was due to the fact that the movie had already started and yet Spiderman or and of the new movies this weekend did NOT have Sold Out over the time slot.

4. That's good news, about all of the smaller theaters bringing it in! |
|
I'll be telling some friends to see it. I was telling my husband (he had the kids out at his parents' today) that there was only a little bit of new information for me (and him), so most would be a review when he goes to see it. He said, "But you know, I bet 98% of the people who see it aren't familiar with much of any of it."
I'm glad Moore mentions that there were stories mentioned in other media, but not the US.
