Subject: I LOVE GROUND BEEF!!!
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 06:25 PM by Dr Fate
Message:
In fact, I am the KING of ground beef.

You know what pisses me off? I order a Taco at some California new-age joint, and they give me a taco with roast beef or whatever- like they are doing me some kind of favor.

Steak? It's wonderful, but please put mine in the grinder- 'cause I want it on a BUN, or a HAMBURGER steak with grilled onions, eggs, wheat toast & butter.

Keep your fancy-pants meats- give me those wonderful, blood-red noodles of flesh- I will grill them, fry them, broil it, roll it into balls, make a loaf, crumble it into MANWICHES or nachos.

My favorite? A THICK, RARE burger with blue cheese & MAYONAISE. Any bun will do. I could not ask for a finer meal.

I dont NEED nothing but SALT, pepper & MAYONAISE w/ mine, thank you very much.

THERE IS NO STOPPING ME!!!!

5. I feel like a cheddar, onion & GROUND beef burrito, thats what.
If they give another dish with that stringy, sliced grey stuff again, I will FREAK OUT.

If I want roast beef then I will roast some.

15. If you eat it, you do wear the perfume
When I still ate it, I could smell it in my sweat.

I still love it, I will never stop missing it, but I've read way too much about the meat industry and the lack of government inspection. I gave up beef this year. Not meat; just beef. I'm learning to love the roasted garlic Boca Burgers grilled in olive oil with shredded chedda and sauteed peppers and onion. Mmmm.

And catfish. I won't get mad cow, I'll just die of mercury poisoning.

4. I USED to love it, but have given it up ...
Mad Cow disease scares the bejeezus out of me, so I no longer eat anything made with ground beef ... not just burgers and stuff, but hot dogs, sausage, anything that contains ground beef scraps.

I'm not one of those hysterical types, but when Mad Cow broke out in the UK, I vowed that once the first case came across the Atlantic, I was through--especially considering that there is no reliable information about just how many cases of Mad Cow there really are out there.

16. for intensely personal reasons
Nothing can replace "Southern Rock Opera". I am a Skynyrd hardcore going back to the late 70's, and Ronnie Van Zant was my Elvis. The album almost seems to eavesdrop on my youth... especially "Let There Be Rock", and "Ronnie and Neil".

That being said, it made me hesitate getting the new one. I was torn between knowing it couldn't be as good, or that it could be better, and I would have to mentally withstand cognitive dissonance and "make it not as good".

Luckily, I can say it is just as strong, but in a different way. That makes them geniuses. Still, the first listen was tough!

So let's have a burger!

13. I make my own. Mix ground beef & onions with some mac & cheese.
Add some tomato sauce if you like- but it's fine with just the mac, cheese & beef & hot sauce.

18. If you want stroganoff
You do the same thing but you omit the cheese package and add some onions, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and sour cream.

19. You know, I have never made that dish.
I should be giving that one a try soon enough.

I have some plain yogurt- I wonder if I could substitute it for the sour cream...

Let me know if you try it that way.

Put some chopped fresh parsley in it at the last minute before serving.
