Are Vern Yip and Ty Pennington now off "Trading Spaces"? |
|
Does anyone know?
We just watched their special "behind the scenes" episode. Profiles of all the other regulars, but not a word about Vern or Ty.
Kind of a drag, if true. Vern was the best designer on that show. Ty was good comedy relief.
Well, as long as Amy Wynn is still around, I'll tune in from time to time.

1. Ty took the helm of Extreme Home Make over.... |
|
And Vern is to soon has his own show, somewhere, not sure where. They've both gone one to bigger and better things, but everyone still loves them, which will be great for their new shows. I wish them all the best. Duckie

One time of Trading Spaces Ty took off his shirt and I swooned!
Do you think Vern is homosexual? I think he is but he doesn't attract me.

9. Oh, I can't stand Frank and Hildy |
|
Franks little flowery stuff is too much and Hildy, well, I'll never forget when she stuck straw all over the walls of a family's living room in one episode.
If that was my living room, I would have gone ballistic! But then again, I have terrible allergies.
I think the Changing Rooms designers are much better. :)

In a BATHROOM?
Or the one where she glued FEATHERS to the wall.
Or the room where she made everything, including the funiture out of cardboard.

for Laurence. I originally thought he was gay, but the more you see him it's obvious he's not. :)

Hildy's rooms are a bit, shall we say, "tasteless without being interesting..." (one of my favorite insults)
But she at least has guts to push the envelope
Frank--he's just fun to watch. One can always make a game of how far the sweat stains will go before the end of the show.
BTW you could have knocked me over with a boa (the fabulous kind) he turned out to be ... married .... to a woman.
Now Carter....sljmllskf. sorry, a little problem speaking there, had to pick up my jaw.
As for Changing rooms--
Anna-- Love her Linda-- Love her (the sun-face mural on the wall was great!!! we re-did it in our apartment to great acclaim) Laurence = Hildy Graham-- take him or leave him Lauren-- she's gotten better Oliver-- Hildy wannabe-- sometimes a bit OTT new guy (don't know his name)-- OK, but rather dull Michael Jewett-- always great-- hands down one of their best.
I miss Carole Smillie though

12. You still see them occasionally |
|
I think a recent repeat was from April with Vern in it. Ty is as someone said on another show, but he shows up occasionally as well. They've got a lot more designers, so they're able to spread them out more.
Personally, I like the other carpenters now, especially Faber Dewar. He's cool, and it's obvious he really loves working with wood.
I love Vern, but I think he was getting a little burnt out. There is quite a good variety of decorators now, some better than others! I love Christi, for example, but don't care for Barry, Rick or Laura. And I've only seen Kat twice (I think) so I'm not sure where she fits.
If you watch TS: Family, you'll see a lot more of some of the designers. Even Hildi tones down her designs on Family and ends up pleasing the families a lot more. It's amazing the patience some of them have with some of the kids.
