At the end of "Anchorman"...
There is the typical narrative "wear are they now?" sequence for each of the characters. By far the funniest was for the semi-retarded weatherman Brick Tamblin played by former Daily Show correspondent Steve Carrell.

He's on the far right.

Tamblin, we are told, got married and had eleven kids.

"He is currently a top advisor to the Bush White House."

The theater erupted with laughter, and even clapping! And this is in one of the most solidly Republican towns in TX. Absolutely astounding.

1. They didn't put him on the far right for nothing...
I'm out of touch! Did this movie just come out?

4. So, would you recommend this?
Or is a renter? I'm on the fence. Having lived through the '70s, I feel completely sated by them now and I'm almost to the point where I can take no more.:D

6. fuckin' hillarious
Highly recommended.
It's slapstick, so don't be expecting any kind of sophisticated humor. This is Will Farrel we speak of

8. Well, Lisa, I laughed very hard.
But I like the type of comedy that Ferrell does. This isn't a "retro" movie like, say, an Austin Powers or (God help me) a Wedding Singer, where the script is saturated with pop culture references. Although the film takes place in the 1970s, the decade is hardly the star, and the movie could just as easily have taken place in the 80s, 90s, or even now.

I suppose it helps if you know and are fond of Ferrell's style and delivery. He can turn the most innocuous line into something insanely funny just by the way he speaks it. But that's just my opinion. :)

5. It looked funny in the previews
I've always been a big fan of Will Ferrell. I know some reviews have been bad, but I'll bet it was funny as hell.
