Ninety-Six Tears and Fifty-Six Quibbles
The song "96 Tears" came out in 1966, sung by a group called the Mysterians, led by an oddball character named Question Mark. Question Mark later shortened the spelling of his name to the typographical symbol for a question mark, ?. He was, to say the least, unusual. He claimed to have been a Martian in a previous life, and never appeared in public without his sunglasses.

There's a new group of Republican refuseniks called "Fifty-Six Quibbles" who make the baseless claim that Fahrenheit 9/11 is full of lies and distortions. The group's 56 quibbles concern well-established political disputes about which reasonable people have disagreed for quite some time. Fifty-Six Quibbles may be the linear descendant of the Impeach Earl Warren crowd, or perhaps the Flat Earth Society. Do not antagonize them! Their behavior may be unpredictable, especially when challenged to support their nonsensical claims.

1. I'm confused. What do "?" & The Mysterians have to do with this GOP group?
Is Rudy "Question Mark" Martinez a member of Fifty-Six Quibbles?

3. right
I never questoined the Wisterians....and as far as the wingnuts go...well they'er best left alone. Its like not sitting next to the mentally ill person on the bus who is talking to himself . There are some things that don't merit further inquiry.

4. There's No Group Called Fifty-Six Quibbles
I was basing this on the assumption that the 56 quibbles are familiar by now to DU'ers. There's no group as such, I made that up.

But if there were a group called "Fifty-Six Quibbles" it would have things in common with the Mysterians - including a disconnect from reality.

Here is the link to the famous 56 quibbles that I've been referring to. Note that the number of "deceits" is now up to 59:
