Does anybody know what Whoopi called bush*.... |
|
at the fundraiser in Hollywood the other night? The news stations will only say it is too vile to repeat on TV. I'm assuming there's no transcript because of the type of venue it was, but certainly there has to be a credible account by someone who was there. Does anybody know?
Personally, I don't think there is a name too vile when referencing bush*.

4. Didn't she say her bush was smarter than Bush? |
|
If so, then it's not an insult. It's a description.

If so, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. She should be proud, Kerry should have laughed, and the pukes should just shut the fuck up. They're trying to outlaw comedy.

6. I think it's funny..... |

....all the right wing indignation about Whoopi's comments. Such an obvious attempt to exploit a nothing situation. It rallies the RW faithful, though. Karl Rove knows southern whites hate to have their hero dissed, especially by uppity female blacks.

8. It's about 1st Amendment Freedom of Speech |
|
The RepigliKKKans have made alot of the comments made by various celebrities at last week's event at which Kerry appeared. They have insinuated it was improper for the celebrities to say bad things about the President.
How dare these Repukes denigrate the 1st Amendment rights of celebrities to express their views. Oh right, after they took over we don't have any 1st Amendment rights. Gee, I got the whole thing wrong. If you are not obediently for "us" then you are against us, therefore you are an "enemy combatant" and we can incarcerate you without "due process" because Chimpster said so.
What a nightmare. Clearly Whoopi was free to say whatever she thought. She shares her own thoughts about the current situation, not unlike many thousands, no probably millions of other Americans. The fear of the Reich-wing is that because of her public persona she may influence others to her point of view. Well, that is part of the public debate now, isn't it.
But it is typical of the Repugs. During Clinton's years in office the Dems never characterized criticism as "anti-American or subversive". They characterized it as not being overly productive in terms of contribution to the public discourse but never repugnant to that discourse.
I hope more celebs will "come out" (pun intended) against this pernicious cabal and what it stands for.

11. I'm all for freedom of speech, but . . . |
|
there's also such a thing as discretion . . . I mean, these celebs support Kerry and want him to be elected . . . you'd think they'd have enough common sense not to go overboard and give the opposition more ammunition . . . sure they have a right to say whatever they want, but that doesn't mean they should . . .

Kerry and Edwards are attacked for simply being nice guys standing near each other. How realistic is it for anyone to live their lives according to what the nuts will say?
