Canadian Distribution Dilemma? Business Question. |
|
This is probably not the right place for this but I will give it a shot anyway. I just received the exclusive USA/Canada distribution rights for a product made in the UK. Without getting into detail about the product here all I can say is that the market is both retail and industrial. I have been selling the product in the States and some in Canada mostly to industrial accounts and am in the process of having a DOD NSN number assigned to it. My dilemma, in USA and Canada, is the retail end. I neither have the time nor inclination to spend on the retail market (You can find the product in Walmart from a different manufacturer who has it made in China - typical). Any idea on how to hook up with potential distributors in Canada? I do have a customer in Alberta that wants to move it in the mining industry but it's the retail that I am concerned about. The retail markets would include, but not limited to, DIY hardware, Outdoors (it was once written up in an outdoor book as essential outdoor gear), Marine, Gardening, woodworking, cycling and others. Is there a central agency or something of that sort? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
