That I only post in the lounge, which kinda urked me.
I feel I shall explain.

No, I don't post in other forums often, because of a few reasons. Like I don't think I'm as up on U.S. politics as most of you. B: Whenever I do go to GD points I have already made have been addressed. I do cruise the other forums all the time,rarely post. AND as a journalist my life is ALWAYS serious. SO I enjoy some down time in the lounge.

Got a prob with that? Seriously, I won't treat it as a flame, I'd like to address it.

I don't know what was written about you, but if you only want to post in the lounge, so be it. I think there have been many thoughtful discussions from time to time in the lounge. Of course, there have also been some hilarious posts, too, but then it wouldn't be DU without them, right? Do your thing and don't let anyone else tell you how to do it!:)

as a Canadaian you don't have any real need to be as up on US politics as we do; you can't vote here, so why stress yourself over our problems.

Of course, if we destroy the world, it will affect you, so in that sense you ought to be aware of us; on the other hand that could be said of numerous other countries, and it rarely causes us to pay any attention to them, right?

There are many other people here who don't post in all the forums; that's why there are numerous forumsn, so people can post where they choose.

Nothing in the rules says members are required to post x number of times per forum per month.

I don't know why, really. Maybe we shouldn't be allowed to have some occasional fun when the country is in such disarray. Maybe the ones that think that are just assholes. I "called" one of them on it last week, and he/she ran away like a kicked cur. Who knows?

To be honest, I probably spend more time in GD, but post more in the Lounge. Like you said, sometimes there's little to add there that hasn't already been said.

I concur with your reasons for not posting there much, but probably my main reason for not posting a lot there -- or even visiting it for long periods of time -- is that it can be an ugly place. At the best of times, it's a domain ruled by duelling egos all equally convinced of the certitude that they, alone, hold the keys to The Truth. Bleh.

If you ask me, the Lounge is not only a lot more pleasant but perhaps even harbors more actual thoughtful discussion than the GD forum ever does. If I wanted to subject myself to a lot of touchy blowhards, I'd get a job with Clear Channel.
