What's your motto?
I have two "Be negative. Then, when something bad happens it will be expected and when something good happens, it will seem really good." and "No one dies a virgin; life screws us all."

I think it's from a Red Hot Chili Peppers song.
It's proving very difficult to live up to right now though :( :(
And also "life is for living".
I am optimistic by nature...but shit, right now it's just so hard...I'm heartbroken and just don't know what to do anymore...

29. I live by Don Miguel Ruiz's 4 Agreements...
1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

31. "I have writing to do"
it's not so much a motto as the most repeated phrase in my current vocabulary, so that sort of counts.

Do you want to go to the mall?
-I have writing to do.

Are you coming to bed before 3AM tonight?
-I have writing to do.

Hey, want to see Spiderman 2?
-I have writing to do

What are you doing today?
-I have writing to do.

etc...

36. I've taken a liking to this quote from Gandhi...
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 11:14 AM by Rob H.
"A good man is the friend of all living things." That one, and "The future depends on what we do in the present," also by Gandhi.

On a more humorous note, I stumbled across this one a while ago:

"It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Then it's just a game: Find the Eye."

"We should never separate the live we live from the words we speak."**
A similar one being, "It's what you do, not what you say, if you're not part of the future then get out of the way."*

A political motto: "Politics is not about power. Politics is not about money. Politics is not about winning for the sake of winning. Politics is about the improvement of people's lives. It's about advancing the cause of peace and justice in our country and in our world. Politics is about doing well for people."**
