| Stand-up comedy - surprise discovery |

Have you ever been pleasantly surprised by a stand-up comedy routine? I've been watching comics most of my life. Big fan of Carlin, Pryor, Hicks, Lewis Black. I was flipping the dial the other evening and saw the Blue Collar Comedy Tour on Comedy Central. Imagine my surprise to discover that Bill Engvall is actually funny! Great timing, great observational humor, and his "Here's Your Sign" hook is memorable without being obnoxious. I know he's gotten pegged as part of the country music/Foxworthy/redneck humor schtick, but I think we may see him transcend that at some point.
Have you ever been surprised to find a comic is funny, when you didn't expect him or her to be?

the airplane losing an engine and getting as far as the scene of the crash. I thought he was hilarious but didn't get his name. Do you know who that was?
