Saw an AWSOME Movie last night called "The Last Of Shelia"
This was written by Anthony Perkins & Stephen Sondheim. It stars Richard Benjamin,James Mason,James Coburn,& Dyan Cannon. IT WAS AWSOME! A VERY clever murder mystery! I was glued to the dvd for the whole 2 hours. Why can't they make smart thrillers like this anymore?Only thing that eases my mind is they will not dare remake this.Todays audience couldn't focus or have the pateince required to sit through this film.Anyone else ever see it?

1. One of my all time favorites! Saw it in the theater when released.
Now I have to rent it again - if I can find it.

Great taste, romantico...

2. I loved that movie
and always got grossed out at the sound when someone had something dropped on their head. It's been a long time since I saw that movie so I don't remember the details but I did like it.

might have to rent that and watch it again.

3. Saw it in college...
I took a 400 level English course called "Detective Fiction"

We watched "The Last of Sheila" as an example of a really good modern mystery/detective story with elements of both the classic British and American 'hard-nosed' schools of detective fiction. I remember being blown away by it. I will have to find it on DVD and see it again.

Thanks for the reminder!

4. I haven't seen that one, but you might want to check out SHATTERED,
which starred Tom Berringer. It was a really terrific whodunit/thriller that kept me glued to the tube. Lots of twists and turns and an absolutely unexpected ending...

7. The Last of Sheila
just came out on dvd for the first time.I liked it so much I watched it again w/the audio commentary by DYan Cannon,Richard Benjamin, & Raquel Walch. They tell some really cool stories like how Tony Perkins & Stephen Sondheim played games like these when they entertained guests.I have never seen a movie like this before! IMO, Dyan Cannon & James Coburn steal the picture.I really like the fact that they don't talk down to the audience & the film makers really wnat the viewer to figure out the mystery. After watching it again I noticed all the settle(& not so settle clues)They don't do this anymore in movies.I felt like I was one of James Coburn's guest playing the game with everyone else.Herbert Ross did a great job directing, but the script is the strongest part of the film!

8. Good DVD commentaries are a real treat....
They can really add so much to the experience. I'll definitely have to check it out at Blockbusters...

BTW, I always love getting movie recommendations on older movies... So many I would never check out otherwise. Thanks!
