Chamisa Forgives Me!

Well, day 2 of the antibiotic regimen. First dose was easy. cat was in shock! "You want to WHAT *gulp* what was THAT?!" and I got the medicine down her furry lil gizzard with no porblem.

That was then. This is now. "You and whose army, two-legger!?"

Still, since I outweigh her by a very large factor, I'm successful. Back kitten into corner of counter, press gently on head, squirt medicine into cheek and release cat. She hasn't yet figured out that she can spit the stuff out. I'm still ahead. I've been pilling and dosing cats for decades. There isn't a cat alive that can outfox The Dropper! It's the emotional stuff that has me worried. Will she begin to hate me? Will she loathe being picked up? Will she associate me with that nasty minty stuff forced down her fuzzy little yap?

She just jumped onto the desk and showed me her butt! "See my butt? Isn't it great? Everybody loves the south end of a northbound kitten!"

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I'm forgiven!

1. What was her diagnosis?
I remember you being worried about her.

2. I have had cats all my life and there are some techniques
after you give the kitty the meds.......blow in his/her face.....they will swallow the meds. works well with pills or liquids.

5. Not in the face, but at the nose.
Blow on, or touch the cat's (or dog's) noseleather and the animal will run her tongue out to clean it. When a cat or dog extends her tongue, she has to swallow whatever is in her mouth. It's a reflex.

Tap! GULP! *lick* Done!

3. Bah - u think thats bad...
Try doing it to three of them...

The first one can be taken by suprise. The second sits for a second, pointing and going "ha-ha" ala Nelson on the Simpsons, but only for a moment... then comes the slow dawn of realization, the quick scamper and bob & weave... maybe if you're lucky you can fake 'em into it with the old "yeah, that was pretty funny, wasn't it ??" routine.. but the third is all "I aint falling for no banana in the tailpipe trick..." who knew those jaw & neck muscles were so strong ?!

I tried doing the mean sometimes-psycho one first... saved Mr. Soft & Snuggly for last, thinking he'd be easy... riiiiiiight...
