I'm playing a CD copy of Casey Kasem's AMERICAN TOP 40 from Aug. 17, 1974.
Just threw it on, but here's the countdown so far:

#40: BEACH BABY, First Class
#39: TIME FOR LIVIN', Sly & The Family Stone
#38: LET'S PUT IT ALL TOGETHER, The Stylistics
