Frizzy-haired DUers: can you recommend a good hair product?
The humidity lately has me looking something like this: :silly: and the John Frieda anti-frizz stuff I usually buy isn't helping. Know anything that actually works? I hate showing up at work looking like a mess.

1. If your hair is curly
I just found a great product from Artec called Curl Memory Spiral Down creme. Defines my curls without stiffness.

2. Infusium

I use the shampoo and conditioner; but I think the leave-in conditioner is the best with my frizzy hair.

8. A Hearty Second for INFUSIUM
That shit is DA BOMB if your hair is anything like mine, which looks (more often than not) a bit like this on most days:

The shampoo & conditioner are great. Those are the ONLY TWO PRODUCTS that I can use and get out of the shower and be able to run a pick through my hair (I gave up on brushes and combs years ago).

The leave in conditioner is great as well. For me, it turns the frizz into nice little curls---here's a hint, though. Don't spray it directly on your hair--I find that doing that puts way too much on your hair and weighs it down---spray some in your hands and work through your hair. You'll have to experiment to see how much does you good. I about gave up on it b/c I was WAY WAY over applying it to my hair. But then I started to lighten up on the application and I would never do without INfusium ever again.

I also saw on TV that they have a frizz-reducer out on the market as well, but I haven't had a chance to use that yet.

3. Well, I was gonna say the John Frieda stuff....
but you blew that one away. I usually use Step4 Frizease, but I've also used step3 and step5 on occasion.

Have you tried the BedHead stuff?

5. It usually works well enough for me
but for some reason my hair's been poufing out like crazy the last few days. It's just so humid!

4. Can you work with the frizz?
My hair looks good for exactly two weeks a year. Otherwise, when it's humid, it's fuzzy; when it's not, it's flat.

During the summer, I can use some light mousse, scrunch my hair up and let it air dry. It looks a bit all over the place, but somehow it works.

6. try naturallycurly.com
Tons of product recommendations there. For some people, the silicone based products like FrizzEase will actually make your hair frizzier....good luck!

16. That website is GREAT!

I found it a few months ago, and started their "no shampoo" regimen. I can now wear my curly hair down for the first time in years and years and YEARS.

Frizz is better now too - after throwing out the shampoo.

7. REDKEN GLASS!!! I would literally die without it. Best hair product EVER
Comes in a smallish bottle for around $20, but it'll last you 6 months or more. You squeeze a tiny bit on your palms, smooth over your hair (wet or dry), and frizzies are tamed. Also works great as a straightening aid during blow drying.

11. The new Biolage smoothing products are great
Check them out here. I think they're only available in salons but it's worth the trip and the price.

13. What about hair gel?
It seems to sort of work for me if I put it in at the right time and don't comb it too much while its drying. I have mastered the technique of using enough to get it to work, but not too much so that it will look stiff.
I have frizz problems too. There are drawbacks to having thick wavy hair.

17. Frizz Ease products
I swear by them, been using them for a couple of years. I use the wind down and add some styling gel to it. You put it in damp hair then blow dry straight. It's great.

18. Another plug for Frizz-ease -- the shine stuff and mousse.
My hair is fine and flyaway, so heavy products make my hair look greasy. Frizz-ease stuff is the first I've used that makes my hair look normal.

19. You think you have bad hair?!
I look like Jay London! Mini-luvamericahatebush here. i swear, my hair looks like I got a tip from ol jay. I use a few products and my hair starts to look like a normal persons. I use a gel called L.A Looks that handles the humidity pretty well and another one called Healthy Sexy Hair. The last one's a Soy Tri-Wheat leave in that you spray your hair with after a shower. I like the smell of it.... I feel your pain. My hair's thick and curly. Curly hair: Nice to look at; Hell to manage.
