I have an orange tabby cat, Lilo. She is really sweet and loves to be stroked, but she has this habit of licking my shirt when I stroke her. She loves to lick fabric. I've tried looking up things about it, and my cousin works for the vet and he asked them and they don't know about it. Anyone have a similar experience or might know?
Thanks Steph

Our kitten insists on licking your hand or shirt if you're scratching his back. It's the cutest thing.

2. Yep. One of my many cats used to do that. But it didn't |
|
create any problems so I don't have any advice, sorry.

3. Something to do with washing you, |

like they wash themselves. Probably a sign affection, but a pretty harmless one (as opposed to my cat, who bites my hand).

I have two cats that I adopted as kittens at the same time, so they're like siblings. They groom each other all the time, sometimes one will even put its arm around the others neck so they can hold them while they giving them a good "licking". It's definitely a "term of endearment".
I love how they all have their own personalities. I have one that sometimes gets so into getting her strokes that she'll be purring up a storm and suddenly give me a little "love bite" on my chin.

Licks the sheets on my bed. . . I have never figured that out. I need to ask the vet.

8. Normal harmless kitty behavior |

Mine gets overly excited when I scratch her back and gives me "love bites" but sometimes she gets a bit too rough and I have to say in a loud firm voice "NO BITE" and kind of stop scratching for a second. She knows. I've even seen her catch herself about to bite me and stop herself. She's not trying to hurt me just gets carried away with the pleasure of my fingernails on her back and has to BITE something because it FEELS SO GOOD!
Also her tongue sticks out when you scratch her. If your face is close enough to hers she'll give you a tongue bath while her eyes roll back in her head in complete kitty ecstacy.
