Mini-luvamericahatebush here. I'm a part of FanFiction.net and was wondering if anyone else has ever been there. It's a great place to write stuff and to get reviews, sorta like on big writers workshop. You can write about your favorite book or movie, cartoon or TV show. Please tell me if you're a member! I'm on there as Lady lanet in the Lord of the Rings section.

1. I've always wanted to write some fanfiction
But what I really want to write is an Indiana Jones/James Bond crossfic.

I can never get it off the ground because the timelines just don't mesh.

2. That's okay.
Don't worry. You can do a cross over with Star Wars and King Authur if you know enough. Rreal Life and LOTR is messy enough for me...... @.@

3. Not to make an asshole of myself, but...

FF.net is home to some of the WORST drivel on the Internet. It's effin Mary Sue Central. Some of the stuff there is so bad it's funny... for some examples, I refer you to http://www.livejournal.com/community/deleterius/ . I swear if I read one more story about Hermione becoming a goth or Serena Greenleaf joining the Fellowship and screwing Legolas, I'll barf. And the feedback these people get is awful... "OMG legolas is TEH HAWT ur storey ROX0RS!!!1"

Then again, I mostly look at the LOTR and Harry Potter fanfiction. It's possible that some of the more obscure fandoms have better quality stuff. ;)

::waits for her ass to get fried::

Edited to fix the link, hopefully

7. To true. There was a really bad on called The Power of Love that
FF.net kicked. There's a few good OC stories and some good non OC stories to. Try reading my Umm.... Mom? Where are we? It's where a girl and her mother are thrown into Middle Earth. There's another one called The Tides of Time and Bones of the Earth. It's an awsome story about how 500 years after the War of The Ring, Middle Earth is dying because of lack of magic. It's Junos way of saying WE NEEd MAGIC IN THE WORLD DAMMINT!!! Or... that's how I put it....

11. Yeah. This one was REALLY bad.
I mean, okay. Here's an example I saved when I have to do my thesis thingy. I'm doing it on why people write.

The Power of Love:

Jyessicah walked aahed of the fellowship because she had good sight because of the farie in her.

Yargh. That made me barf. THE Y IS AN ILLEAGALE VOWEL!!!!

10. They have no real standards over there
so I prefer to go to fandom or subject specific archives that are a little more picky.

And of course I hit the pages I help webhost. :)

12. I used to be a regular there.
I would post a lot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Roswell fanfiction(I'm a nerd, yes). I refuse to show you any- I want to save my last shred of dignity.

13. I thrilled to a fan's adaptation of "The Shield"...some excerpts:
The man gets up groggily, and heads for his pants, where he pulls his cell phone out of on of the pockets quickly. “B. P. here, what do you want?” The man sounds angrier than he did previously, which makes Tomas frown slightly, he doesn’t want to have to deal with this nutcase’s anger.

snip

Tomas pouts slightly. Damn it, oh, course, it had to be PJ. He unlocks the many locks, except for the chain, and peers out at a young black man dressed in blue jeans, and a normal tee-shirt.(He is wearing a tad bit of pink lipgloss) He is standing by a small white woman in similar threads. “So, they let you, glad they kept the dress, Frank.” Tomas says in a monotone. He also calls the man by his real name to see if it will piss him off. He really isn’t in the mood for company, especially a new parolee, and someone who spends too much time serving drinks at the Abby, so she can find the perfect dyke. “Hi Lindsey, they let you escape as well. Joy.”
