... A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness."

125. Repo Man was the "quote du jour" movie...
for my friends when we were in college.

"But Otto, what about our relationship?"
"...Fuck that."

The whole "John Wayne was a fag" conversation, which I have sadly forgotten.

But my favorite was:

"Quit singin'"
"I'm not singin', guy".
"I'm standin' right fuckin' next to you, you're fuckin' singin', now cut it out" (or something to that effect).

Edited on Thu Jul-15-04 09:38 PM by TroubleMan
but some of the lines are so funny:

From the kung-fu movie Taoist Drunkard (aka Drunken Wu-Tang):

"I'm not going! I'm going to give you a taste of your own Sloppy Fist Style!!"

Also:

"Don't threaten us! .... and get off our roof!!"

.....
It's really, really, reaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllyyyyyy funny if you see that movie in a high state of intoxication.

64. Good Will Hunting v. the NSA
WILL (cont'd)
Say I'm working at N.S.A. Somebody
puts a code on my desk, something nobody
else can break. So I take a shot at
it and maybe I break it. And I'm real
happy with myself, 'cause I did my job
well. But maybe that code was the
location of some rebel army in North
Africa or the Middle East. Once they
have that location, they bomb the
village where the rebels were hiding
and fifteen hundred people I never had
a problem with get killed.
(rapid fire)
Now the politicians are sayin' "send
in the Marines to secure the area"
'cause they don't give a shit. It
won't be their kid over there, gettin'
shot. Just like it wasn't them when
their number got called, 'cause they
were pullin' a tour in the National
Guard. It'll be some guy from Southie
takin' shrapnel in the ass. And he
comes home to find that the plant he
used to work at got exported to the
country he just got back from.
And the guy who put the shrapnel in
his ass got his old job, 'cause he'll
work for fifteen cents a day and no
bathroom breaks.
Meanwhile my buddy from Southie realizes
the only reason he was over there was
so we could install a government that
would sell us oil at a good price.
And of course the oil companies used
the skirmish to scare up oil prices so
they could turn a quick buck. A cute,
little ancillary benefit for them but
it ain't helping my buddy at two-fifty
a gallon. And naturally they're takin'
their sweet time bringin' the oil back
and maybe even took the liberty of
hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes
to drink seven and sevens and play
slalom with the icebergs and it ain't
too long 'til he hits one, spills the
oil, and kills all the sea-life in the
North Atlantic. So my buddy's out of
work and he can't afford to drive so
he's got to walk to the job interviews
which sucks 'cause the shrapnel in his
ass is givin' him chronic hemorrhoids.
And meanwhile he's starvin' 'cause every
time he tries to get a bite to eat the
only blue-plate special they're servin'
is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State.

A beat.

WILL (cont'd)
So what'd I think? I'm holdin' out
for somethin' better. I figure I'll
eliminate the middle man. Why not
just shoot my buddy, take his job and
give it to his sworn enemy, hike up
gas prices, bomb a village, club a
baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join
the National Guard? Christ, I could
be elected President.

65. "Well, it was some kind of juice"
From Woody Allen's "Take The Money And Run"

People were being interviewed by a reporter on why Woody turned to a life of crime. A guy who knew Woody began trying to explain it and spent about 2 minutes of screen time digressing farther and farther from the topic, finally describing what kind of juice he'd had for breakfast that morning, being unable to recall whether it was orange or tomato juice. "Well, it was some kind of juice" was his final comment to the reporter.

Trying to play the cello in the school band...

running down the street, hurriedly setting the chair up, playing a couple notes, then picking it up, running again, setting down again....playing a few more notes....

No one's mentioned "I'll be back." Great line. So great that the guy was cursed to try and re-create in every movie he made after that.

Others:
"I want to shoot you so bad my dick's hard" - Ice-T in New Jack City

Half the dialogue of "Aliens."

"Fuck me gently with a chainsaw." - Heathers

And, the entire script of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. "I don't believe this. If I was bleeding out my eyes, you guys would make me go to school. "

115. My romantic side likes this one: "Loretta, I love you.
"Not like they told you love is, and I didn't know this either, but love don't make things nice - it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren't here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and *die*. The storybooks are *bullshit*. Now I want you to come upstairs with me and *get* in my bed!"

In a different mood, this resonates: "We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon."

Or, "Laugh-a while you can, monkey boy!"

148. from True Romance
Christopher Walken: You've never seen evil so personified as in the face of the man about to kill you.

That enitre scene between Walken & Dennis Hopper is FANTASTIC!

A good line from Raw Deal: The only way we'll ever lie together is if we're hit by the same truck.

151. We want the finest wines available to humanity
We want them here, and we want them now.

Don't threaten ME with a dead fish!

Look at him! Look at Jeff Woad. His head must weight twenty pounds on its own! Imagine the size of his balls... Imagine getting into a fight with him! 2: Please, I don't feel good. 1: That's what you'd say, but that wouldn't wash with Jeff. No, he'd like a bit of pleading, add spice to it. In fact, he'd probably tell you what he was going to do to you before he did it: 'I'm gonna pull your head off - no! please don't pull my head off! - I'm gonna pull your head off, cos I don't like your head!'

even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day

We've gone on holiday by mistake

Two quid?! You must be mad! You can shove it up your arse for nothing and fuck off while you're doing it!

I DEMAND more BOOZE!!

I fuck arses? Who fucks arses? Oh god! Maybe HE fucks arses. Maybe he scrawled it on the wall in a moment of drunken sincerity.
