Will one of you take care of my pets if I'm Raptured?*
This exchange from the "Rapture Ready" message board was posted in a GD thread and it's just too good not to repost. Sorry, the poster didn't include a link. I'm sure if you googled "Rapture Ready Message Board" you'd find it.

Morningstarlet
I know there's been many discussions on things that you will leave behind for unsaved loved ones during the rapture. But does anyone have anything they are doing to ensure their pets have water/food if they are suddenly raptured? I'm curious because I worry about my 2 cats and pet turtle should I disappear suddenly. I bought a FreshFlow pet water fountain that has a supply of fresh water that would last several days for my cats. I'm not sure what to do for food because they would eat everything up in no time if I left a bag of food out. :lol I have an unsaved friend that has a key to my house, and I've instructed him to feed my cats if I'm raptured. Of course I hope he gets saved before the rapture. Anyone have any suggestions?

carolsales
Very thoughtful of you to think about your pets. Telling your unsaved friend to take care of them is a good idea.

But what if God saves your friend?

If you think the endtime is near, maybe its time to let them go back to their natural habitat. Like the sparrows, God will take care of them.

I suspect there will be alot of animals, especially those inside houses, that will not survive. I have two dogs, and I really don't know who would take care of them.
All I know to do in case of Rapture is pray that in His wisdom, He has a plan even for them.
I remember someone, on one of these types of threads long ago saying she and her husband had a plan to grab the dogs if they were raptured!

Oh---man I thought I was the only one that was crazy enough to be concerned about my lovely little dog!! Glad that there are others out there too!! I don't know what to do either!! The thought of her starving to death in the house makes me cry somedays. I know that the Lord would take care of her but I wish she could go in the rapture too!!! I try not to think about it very much. I hug and say goodbye to her all the time. :cry She has been such a wonderful blessing to our family. Gotta go and get some tissue now!!

but if God really wants to take the innocents and the "good," it will be the house pets that go, rather than their human "owners."

Now, wouldn't that be the kicker!

4. Thanks!
Since there's a much larger chance that I'll be ruptured than raptured, it's nice to know someone's stepping up to the plate to take care of, uh, let's say, "fluffy."

6. Worry about their pets dying of starvation, but...
all the millions of people dying from the prophesied plagues on the planet and such is of no concern? I'm so glad that christian morality is the foundation of our civilization! -sarcasm off-

9. Ooh, good point!

And here's another angle: There's an argument to be made that it's VERY VERY IRRESPONSIBLE to own a pet if you believe you're going to be raptured. Why condemn these innocent animals to starvation and death? It's cruelty to animals if you ask me...

11. Great idea!!
Of course, the contract would have to provide that the unsaved person promises not to find Jesus and be saved prior to the Rapture.

14. I can't believe in a god that would let my cats starve.
Gods are a savage bunch, aren't they. Allah uses sexual favors to con folks into killing infidels, and Jehova starves your pets if you believe in him, and throws you into a pit of fire if you don't.

at first I laughed then I got worried about them all, I think many of these people need psychiatric help - seriously

"As usual,my fight with these demonic enities continues as they physically harass me 24/7.During this past week, they have been giving me extra special attention for some reason.Maybe they are ticked off over the movie - The Passion .But please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. The alter call people at my church, are just amazed to see all the demonic activity and presence around me.

For some reason, evil considers me a threat and they are pulling out all stops to put me down.Like I mentioned in a previous thread. They even stated to me,in late Nov.,that I should commit sucide in order to escape from this on-going harassment.
:wow:

that's not religious delusion that schizophrenia. He even mentions that it has been suggested to him (not on the board) that he has schizophrenia yet the way he see's it is "The managements claim that I suddenly became a schizophrenic was without merit. That my case was instead of under-going demonic harassment and not of mental illness." There are 9 pages of responses only one person suggests he get medical help.

I started off laughing but this shit isn't funny it's scary and really sad on the part of people who really need help.:scared:

19. You know, I think you're right.
There's a fine line between religious fervor and schizophrenia. And these people are WAAAAAY over that line.

We really shouldn't be mocking the mentally ill. I'm going to hell for sure. So, never mind about that rapture thing!

34. it's not alone either
there are plenty of people on there who beleive they've been "attacked" by demons and have participated in exorcisms. Not to mention the many clearly suffering depression who say that life is so painful they wish the rapture would hurry up.

Really disturbing.

Just curious does anyone know or have an idea just how big the Christian fundie population in US is?

36. No doubt the Rapture belief would attract people
with depression disorders. Funny how thinking the end is near is what keeps them going. I don't know if suicide is against their beliefs or not. May not matter if they are sick enough anyways.

I can't remember the number of people that get raptured, but space is limited I hear. Probably be a lot of people I don't like left behind. That's gonna piss me off. I am sure Cheney won't be going.

21. Anybody familiar with Camille West?
She does a hilarious song about the rapture. "It's one of those days, all of my friends are gettin' raptured, and I'm stuck here in sinners company, Madonna, my mother in law and me" Guess these days she's changed Madonna to Dubya when she sings it!

'm curious because I worry about my 2 cats and pet turtle should I disappear suddenly.

Has anyone told her how wrong relationships with turtles are? According to Sen. John Cornyn it's just like those icky homosexual relationships. Someone should get in touch with MorningStarlet and warn her that she's pretty much doomed for hell because of turtle love

Edited on Fri Jul-16-04 08:02 AM by eyesroll
don't know...die. There's a 100% chance that, if they're not raptured, they'll die. (Even the most end-times-obsessed person will admit that, and they acknowledge the possibility that the end is a long way off, after their natural lifespan.) And many people die suddenly. Do they have provisions for their pets in their will, should they die suddenly?

And God will not take care of a domestic animal released into their "natural habitat," because our homes are their natural habitats now. Releasing a cat, dog, bird, turtle, etc. into the wild is a good way to ensure they either starve to death, freeze to death or get eaten.

How many people actually believe in the rapture? Just wondering. (My fundie, but well-educated and well-versed in traditional Christian theology, co-worker even says it's well outside the mainstream, even in the born-again Christian community.)
