TV shows that never jumped the shark. |
|
M*A*S*H.
Despite (or perhaps even because of!) the personnel changes a few seasons into the show's run, I thought it was strong and relevant right up through the two-and-a-half-hour series finale.

But it only ran about six episodes.
Another would be "The Sopranos". Still a great show that rolls out seasons relatively slow, but it looks like a lot of work went into them.
"MASH" jumped the shark with each cast change. It was originally a funny somewhat dark comedy in the tradition of the movie, but eventually became virtually a drama with occasional humor. I much prefer the earlier episodes.

Some episodes are harder to sit through than others, but for the most part, it was great.

Still running, but I don't see how psychosis in animation form could jump the shark

The prisoner jumped the shark when they stopped filming the show in the village. I think it was after the 6th or 7th show. It could also be argued that it happened when they did the western one.

I think The Simpsons jumped the shark in 1999-2000, but they came back from that around last year or so.
