2. I like Trick of the Tail
but my husband is a Lamb Lies Down fanatic. He used to listen to it obsessively.

5. I was in high school then
and really didn't know about Gabriel and how much more talented he was. ( well in some ways, not as a drummer, I suppose) My girlfriend was a Genesis fanatic and took me to see them.

9. I went with Nursery because, as you say, all those songs are great...
...but Supper's Ready will never get old for me. How prog-rock is that statement, huh?

4. My 1-10's from your list..
1. Foxtrot
2. Trespass
3. The Lamb
4. Wind & Wuthering
5. Trick of the Tail
6. Seconds Out
7. Selling England
8. Nursery Cryme
9. Live
10. ABACAB

Actually 1-3 are practically tied, but 'Supper's Ready' is so great I had to give it credit. 4-5 are also tied.

6. Nursery Cryme
Actually it's a tossup for me between that and Foxtrot, so I picked the one nobody's voted for yet.

Also I have a preference for earlier implementations of ideas that may not be all worked out yet, more rough around the edges, more unintended consequences. (That's one reason I don't care too much about '90s Crimson, or Tales from Topographic Oceans, or Talking Heads after Eno left, or Roxy Music after Eno left, or Harold Budd after Eno left, or Jon Hassell after Eno left, or Robert Fripp after Eno left, or... I think I see a pattern emerging)

7. The real early one from the 60's that featured a woman vocalist singing
"In A World Without You" is my favorite Genesis album.

8. I think you should replace the live albums
with "And Then There Were Three" and "Duke" if you have the time. There's a case to be made for each.

10. tough call
I selected "Selling England", but I'm extremely partial to Foxtrot and Lamb also, and Nursery Cryme (for Musical Box). Genesis Live also had some extraordinary moments - they were an amazing band when they were still hungry.

Wind and Wuthering has "Blood On The Rooftops", maybe their most touching post-Peter track.

Genesis was college for me - "Los Endos" probably blew out three sets of speakers.

Seconds Out was a nice live compilation, but a little sterile.

...Three had some moments, but ventured into triteness, and Duke also had some great moments, but overall an uneven release.

Eponymous had "Home By The Sea", which I saw live (my 6th Genesis show), and that was terrific.
