I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Oh yeah

2. Coincidence . . . or perhaps you are mocking me
Edited on Sun Jul-18-04 04:43 AM by ashling
I have had a terrible cough for at least two weeks, with the result that I sound like Louie Armstrong.

OH YEAH ;(

Every time I think it is finally clearing up, WHAM! it gets worse.

At least once or twice a day lately, I have an intense coughing spasm until I get nauseous. :puke:

This was initially due to a sinus drip sort of thing.

Why do we have a respiratory system that allows nasal juice to drip down the back of the thrroat, causing sore throat and hacking cough, etc. This seems to me to be a major design flaw.

And I think to myself . . . what a wonderful world.;(

3. I love that song
And have you heard another great version of this song, combined with Over the Rainbow, by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'les? Hauntingly beautiful- a little sample can be heard here (look for "Facing Future"- CD realplayer, mp3, and WM mini-download button below it) on this page of his CDs.

7. I love that song!
One of my all time favorites.
Gives me goose bumps and swells my optimism every time I listen to it.

4. Love this song!
It's the sail-away song for one of the cruise lines spouse and I sail on frequently. Absolutely heart tugging to stand on deck as the ship pulls away and Louie's voice comies sailing over the PA system singing this wonderful song in in his inimitable way!! :-)

5. "What a wonderful world"
I will always think of that song in the context of how it was used in the movies "Good Morning Vietnam" and "Bowling for Columbine," both of which play that song while showing scenes of war, mayhem and destruction. I will never be able to listen to that song in an unironic manner.

6. That song reminds me of
Good Morning, Vietnam. I loved the song before that and even more since.
