11. I named my three pups after the Stooge's
Moe, Larry & Curly. Its kind of odd to call a dog Larry. I remember when they were younger and I went into work complaining that Larry kept pooping in the living room- I had some explaining to do!

12. Oh, how fun!!
I like Sonny.
Other cute names for a GR baby boy:
-Kansas (don't ask me where this came from. It just popped into my head and sounded cute.)
-Bobby
-Chester
-Quinn
-Fred
-Felix
-Jack
-Pete
-Zeke
-Walt

That's all I can think of right now, but I love the idea of naming a puppy an old man name.
Duckie

17. My golden is named Oberon
His buddy and best friend ( a rescue dog we got, 1/2 Husky, 1/2 St. Bernard and 1/2 Humvee) is named Titan. Titania would not work for a male.

First things first.
HIDE YOUR SHOES! Baby goldens love to shower their love an attention by chewing through shoes.

19. Baby Goldens are wonderful - named mine Alex and Baily
but they gave a need to chew - and shoes and the wood on furniture are at risk.

They are also very smart and have as many emotions as a sister or brother-

They will love you - and your friends - but if you dis them -say by locking them in a room so they do not disturb a special friend, they may give you the finger by peeing on the locked door.

My Goldens watched me and learned how to open a door knob, slider door, etc - something I did not know until I came home from shopping and they were on the porch to greet me.

The IQ does not get much beyond that of a 4 year old - but they understand lanuage, and can have the "test the parent attitude" of a terrible two year old human.

They are extremely trainable - but hate - Absolutely HATE - being alone in the house. I have never seen a happy Golden that was "cage trained" to reside in their cage until called upon.

Good Luck - I envy you - a lot!

:-)

20. I kind of like "Big Dog". But what if he turns out to be a runt. I have
always had cats. The only other dog I had was a pale blue eyed black dog with white tips named "whoops".
Are Goldens really bad chewers? He will probably be inside/outside dog. I really don't know much about them though

26. Look at its personality and let the name come to you naturally.
Live together for a few days and watch him/her and look for their character to show and a name will come to you. I had a dog that was a goof ball from the get go. By the third day I had named him Butthead.
