Do you have a favorite berry? |
|
I love blackberries. I like how they are both sweet and tart. I live in Washington right now and there are wild blackberries everywhere.
Do you have a favorite berry?
Please don't say Halle Berry....it's to obvious.

6. I like rasberries but they're to sweet to win out over blackberries |
|
Plus raspberries are kinda soft - I like how blackberries are larger and chunkier with little seeds in them - so they're also kind of crunchy too...

Though truthfully, my favorite berry is raspberry, preferably black raspberries. YUMMY!!
Also love lingenberries.
pretty much enjoy them all quite highly, except blueberries which I do not go out of my way for.
And though it's not quite a berry, it looks like one: lychees. Love 'em.

11. lingenberries are very popular in Sweden |
|
though I'm thinking that might be loganberries. Damned if I can rmember for sure. Though I know there are indeed lingenberries.
lychees are really a fruit, but their shell is all bumpy like a berry's skin, so I included them. the shell has to be peeled off, then the inside can be eaten (and it has a pit of a seed like most fruit, and not bajillions of little ones that get stuck in the teeth like berries) and they are sweet sweet sweet, especially picked fresh off the tree and left to chill to the almost freezing point. YUM!
Also insanely juicy, so be careful when eating them.
you can get them at some grocery stores (like in NY) fresh, or anywhere, usually in the Asian food aisle, canned (and already peeled). They lose flavor in the can like any fruit will, but I'd be willing to bet money that you'll like them, so go give 'ema try. Never met anyone who doesn't like the taste. They might dislike the mess of having to peel and eat, but they like the taste.

15. Gotta agree about blackberries |

My momma has a blackberry bush in her backyard and I just love eating them right off the bush in the late Spring. :)
Strawberries are pretty damn tasty too.

Although they're called cherries they're actually small yellow berries. They taste just like their name implies, very very tannic, not so good. But choke cherry jam has to be the most divine-tasting substance in the universe. Seriously, you've NEVER tasted better jam, I guarantee it. I wish they grew in my neck of the woods.

Up here in Whatcom Co I have blackberries, salmon berries and Huckleberries (the red ones)in the yard. I like the blackberries the best too. There are also thousands of acres of cultivated berries around. Mostly blueberries and raspberries.

are a prairie berry that grows on a low (15') tree. They resemble blueberries but are much larger (in most years) and much tastier. Second choice is raspberries.
