Pirates of the Caribbean #2:starring Johnny Depp & Keith Richards
Due to the smashing success of Walt Disney's film, Pirates of the Caribbean, there will be 2 more sequels to the original film.

http://www.killermovies.com/p/piratesofthecaribbean2/articles/3275.html

The movie grossed over $320 million in US and foreign markets. Star Johnny Depp was a big reason for the film's success. He stole every scene in his ridiculous swaggering, staggering portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow.

Part 2, Pirates of the Caribbean part 2, "Setting Sail" will feature Johnny Depp and Keith Richards as Captain Jack Sparrow's Father.
-----------------
Johnny Depp has been an outspoken critic of the Bush Administration. He called the US a "puppy that will bite you". He claims that he left the US because he could no longer support the neo-Con administration's policies.

So why is he giving his artistic best to a highly controversial company: Walt Disney Studios? They have made some very poor decisions lately, and I for one am boycotting them. In particular with the Michael Moore movie, why would Johnny stay with them?

2. Johnny is mostly interested in
1) the character and story
2) pleasing the director (within reason)
3) earning a living.

In short, if he sees a piece which allows him to explore some aspect of his creativity, he'll do it. Doesn't matter who the corporate masters are.

This is a great Lounge topic. :D

4. Interesting
I heard he came up with the mannerisms for that role
by imitating Keith Richards and Pepe le Pew. :D

for Michael Eisner's decision to be a dipshit.

9. Sorry, guys. I couldn't decide between the Lounge

and General Discussion. But since I wanted to discuss Johnny Depp, I opted for this one.

Anyway, I agree with some posters. We shouldn't make Johnny take the blame for Michael Eisner. I'm boycotting Disney, and I'm trying to figure out what to do about the 2 upcoming movies, which should be really entertaining (with Keith Richards, to boot).

10. Who knows who'll be in charge at Disney by the time this comes out?

By then, those who refused to distribute Moore's film might have paid for their cowardice.

I've heard that Johnny Depp's contract for POTC included all 3 films if the first was a success; so his decision was made some time ago. The same for Orlando Bloom & Kiera Keightley.

The film will be released 2005 at the earliest. By then, we'll have a new president, Moore will have another Oscar or 2 & we'll be in a different world. Let's hope so.

11. Further proof that Keith has become the Dean Martin of our time
A "surefire" punchline. Sad, really. You just know that there will be a bit about his garbled speech. I would expect nothing less from a sequel to a movie based on a freaking theme park ride
