What about wild peeves?
The undomesticated ones.
Feral peeves.
How do you handle those?

4. Wild peeve populations are generally held in check by snipe
Snipe being their natural predator. The peeve population only explodes when snipe are overhunted.

Don't hunt snipe.

6. Yes indeedy
And if they stay in the cave long enough, they will evolve, over many generations, into a Hodag, a very different creature altogether. Most cavers will tell you they have seen hodags, but they are liars. Few survive an encounter with an adult hodag, especially a momma with offspring.

I also neglected to discuss the role played by the Boojum which, though technically omnivorous, rarely prey on peeves. Only when boojum habitats are crowded out by encroaching Snarks do boojums resort to preying on snipe. This is a worst-case scenario. Snipes and snarks working together with boojums can make life very difficult for peeves.

:D

7. Curiosity abounds within Mr. Hardhead.
I must ask. "Do you find it necessary to be wearing a hardhat whilst spelunking?

You got Snarks there too? Last Snark I ever saw was in Barcelona, Spain.

No offense intended Mr. Hardhead.

Hee Hee Hee!
