Any B-52's fans??
I've been listening to them on Rhapsody and I've forgotten how whimsically brilliant their music was. "Planet Claire" "Quiche Lorraine", "Throw that Beat in the Garbage Can". Ahh, great stuff.

2. Has anybody seen a dog dyed dark green?
Love the B-52's. Saw them in the 80's. I've got a cd with like 4 versions of Love Shack. One is a capella. I put it on when I need a fix.

5. Partial to "Whammy!" Myself
Edited on Sun Jul-18-04 11:43 PM by Beearewhyain
This album with the Pistols Never Mind the Bollocks and The Cure's The Top were my first three "good" cassettes. Started me on to good music that you didn't hear on the radio.

God, now I feel old. :P

6. My favorite - "Mesopotamia"
Turn your watch, turn your watch back,
About a hundred thousand years
A hundred thousand years.

I'll meet you by the third pyramid
I'll meet you by the third pyramid
Ah come on, that's what I want, we'll meet
In Mesopotamia, oh oh oh

(We're goin' down to meet) I ain't no student
(Feel those vibrations) Of ancient culture
(I know a neat excavation) Before I talk
I should read a book.
But there's one thing I do know,
There's a lot of ruins in Mesopotamia.

Six or eight thousand years ago
They laid down the law. Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haa..

I want the world to change for me---gotta get away---away from Z
Living on the edge of Z
Waste dumps---toxic fog---irradiate---and keep it fresh forever
Good old boys---tellin' lies
'Bout time---I got wise
Getting nothing but static
Static in my attic from...

I first heard them play in a free show in Sproul Plaza at UC Berkeley back in '79, before they were big. I fell in love immediately!

17. i saw them with the Pretenders about 5 or so years ago
(when that song Debbie, dedicated to Debbie Harry came out)I prefer harder punk but THIS band is always always the best for a good time. THey opened with PLanet Claire and ended with Rock Lobster. Of course when Rock Lobster ended it took awhile for the dust was clear. One of the funnest party bands EVER. This lover of all music hard, loud and fast will ALWAYS love the B-52's...
