Any "The Sundays" fans here?
I have all three albums and have to say that they hold up over time better than most. That woman's voice haunts me, in a good way.Am I the only person who remembers them. Of course I am also a fairly big Cocteau Twins fan as well so it might say something about my preference for ethereal female singers.

It saddens me neither group is making music anymore.
Your thoughts?

1. Listened to them back in college
Late 80's/early 90's - the lead singer has a FANTASTIC voice - one of my friends said he wanted to, um, make love to that voice.

5. Reading, Writing, Arithmetic was my senior year soundtrack
Lots of memories associated with that album. In the summer of 1990, my mother sold our home of 21 years (the place I grew up in) and took a job in a town 80 miles away. I was off at college, but it was very strange to go "home" during my senior year, and it was this new (smaller) town that I never lived in and where I didn't know anyone.

I also had a very rough first semester my senior year, with all sorts of bad sh!t happening. Of course it all worked out eventually, but it was still pretty rough. The biggest memory is me cranking out my 100-page senior thesis, including all the research, in the space of five days, using only the library, a Mac, two cases of Mountain Dew, one loaf of bread, one jar of peanut butter, and at least two all-niters to get it done.

Oh to be 21 and foolish...

2. I haven't thought about them for quite some time
but they remain one of my favorites. You're right about the voice. It just grabs you.

More info at http://ectoguide.org/artists/sundays.the

She just turned 41. She and Dave have a little girl, IIRC.

I loved their albums and still listen to them from time to time.
