We had a good draft. And got rid of Jason Gildon. That is addition by subtraction.

And we call them the Stillers, OK?

I'd like to think that the Vikes could do something this year. But we'll have to see what the O-line does along with the defensive secondary.

19. I dunno...
I mean, they're crying about needing a new stadium (the Padres got one, and now the concession money doesn't go to the Chargers anymore)... Last time they needed a stadium upgrade, they went to the Super Bowl. Then they went back to being doormats. I assume that this year or next, they'll head back so the San Diego voters can vote the billionaire Alex Spanos a multi million dollar stadium... then they'll suck again.

Hey, it worked for the Padres!

But, back on the subject... I grew up in Los Angeles. I'm a Rams fan.

Or if the owner of the Chargers weren't such a welfare queen, sucking on the public tit on one hand, then using the money to fund Republicans who vote to give him more money...

60. When he had a healthy line, Maddox was unstoppable.
Our right guard was recovering from diabetes - Simmons.

And we lost a tackle to free agency - Wayne Gandy

We now have drafted a moose to replace him - Stark from Florida.

You will see a big difference.

And last year means nothing. The league changes too fast.

Where were the Patriots in 2002?

62. 2002?
Let's not go there :D

I dont think you'll see a letdown like that from them this year. They seemed very prepared and psyched already just at the mini camps. And very hungry to keep the good vibes going.I hope so anyways, rooting for the Sox,Bruins and Celtics is no picnic :)

Do you know if Stark is going to play regularly this year? He's a tank of a man,and he's gonna be good soon.

You know what the best part of this year is? ESPN Classic shows NFL Films all the time!!! That show is like a religious mass for me!

Bring on the contact sports!!!!!

24. Gotta go with the champs.

The Corey Dillon trade was brilliant. Tom Brady with a running game is just scary.
Some dark horse candidates:
NFC
Seattle - All pieces are there on offense. Now if only that defense could step up. Holmgren has been there, done that, so he knows what it takes. Playing in a weak division helps.
Vikings - Loaded with talent. Moss, Culpepper, and a trio of good backs. Made some good moves to improve the D. But is the coaching any good? Make or break year for Tice.
Saints - Another loaded team, but also the poster boys for perennial underachievers. If they ever put it all together, they could be scary. Look at that d-line.

AFC
Baltimore - NFC Norris is the weakest division in football. Should make the playoffs easily, where they could ride that D like in 2000. Question is, can Boller take the next step?
Jacksonville - Young team that could surprise a lot of people. How far they go depends on Leftwich.
And of course, my Jets - Easier schedule, improved D, and a healthy Pennington add up to a rebound season. Will probably be chasing New England all year, but no reason why they at shouldn't at least compete for a wildcard spot with their schedule. Miami has had a terrible offseason, and Buffalo has to deal with a new coach and an old Bledsoe. If the D improves at all (which won't take much) and Pennington can recapture the magic of 2002, they will be dangerous.

30. The skins!
The main reason why: Joe Gibbs. One of the greatest coaches of all time, so I don't really have to go into details.

Second reason: Clinton Portis. Ok, this may be wishful thinking, but this guy has put up insane stats in two years. If he can stay healthy, who knows how far this kid can go.

Third reason: We have really good depth at QB, WR, HB. The three most important positions, other than the lines. Which BTW, our defensive line looks to be just as bad as last year. But the offensive line is looking up since the orignator of the "Hogs" is back, Joe Bugel.

I can't wait for football season to start. :)

57. Barring injuries the Patriots should win again
They are actually going to be deeper than last year.

Brady is as cool under pressure as anyone in recent years.

A healthy Colvin added to a defense that was tops in the league last year.

A running game? Hell yeah.

Best coaches in football right now.

Best owner in football right now.

Psycho fans.

They wont have the record they did last year, but 12-4 is a definate possibility.

The best Steeler team of all.

Won Super Bowls in 1974 and 1975.

Defense had Five straight shutouts in 1976.

Injuries killed them.

61. Yep
That's why I said barring injuries, because it's causes havoc every year for someone, and can take the best teams down pretty quickly.Still, the Pats do have some depth on defense,so they might be able to survive a couple of injuries.I pretty much bank on Ted Johnson being hurt annually :)

The Steel Curtain is still my fav defense of all time, though I was an Oakland fan back then.

Pittsburgh is on the right track now that Kordell is gone.Cower stuck with him waaaaay to long. You can't have an 7-8 year veteran who still makes rookie mistakes. The Bears will learn this too.Maddux is no Montana but he's a step up.
