Bought the soundtrack this weekend... listening to it now for the first time.
Sorry to say, IT SUCKS!!!!!
I'm so disappointed. I adored the book, the musical got good reviews and was expected to win the Tony for best musical (lost to Avenue Q).
Now I know why it lost - this is the most trite, predictable, lame-ass music Broadway has seen since Cats.

I liked "Defying gravity." But even that song was poorly written. Did they really have to use the word "wicked" so obviously and often?

that song doesn't totally suck, but it's not good, either.
I just don't understand how people pour millions of dollars into producing this crap.
