Jack Black as Green Lantern??!!?? |
|
Here's the link: http://www.superherohype.com/index.php?id=1737Warner Bros. will absolutely trash the character with this type of movie. Myself, I always pictured Edward Norton playing Hal Jordan in a Green Lantern movie.

Jack Black can only play Jack Black. Isn't that written down in a law book somewhere?
Shouldn't he take his own advice. In small doses, he's hilarious, but, overall, he's boring.
"Look at Catherine Zeta Jones. She's snoring."

and I agree. HORRIBLE WASTE OF TALENT AND CHARACTERS!
I feel like :puke:
The only GL comedy that's ever been done is G'nort and Guy.
An entire mythology warped. It's a fucking waste.

Well, Gil Kane had some semi-whimsical stories of Hal Jordan in the early Silver Age, but this is just stupid. Warner's purchase of DC was a horrible blow to the characters. Look at Marvel, we've had Hulk, Spiderman, X-Men, and Punisher in decent movies, Daredevil was a turkey. Warner/DC has been working on a stillborn Superman project for 8 years now. They're doing a Batman prequel which may be OK. Then, they cast Keanu Reeves as John Constantine and completely disregard the established character.

But you're right about one thing--notice how they have to REINVENT DC characters to make it to the big screen while Marvel only fails when it stays from established characters.
PLEASE don't mention Hellblazer again. You are causing me personal pain. I read Moore's books when they came out. There's only one person who should play John--STING.
End of story.

Yep, what was it, Swamp Thing #'s 37-50 with JC leading him around the country? I read those as an eager 16 year old who saw what talent could do with a "funny book".

6. Yep, before I found WATCHMEN |

I learned how to worship at the Moore altar with Swampy.
Moore's work on ST is all collected in TPB, but they're quickly going out of print. If you're missing any, I'd suggest you pick them up soon.
DC has now actually come to terms with Veitch, who had his Swamp Thing meets Jesus story pulled. The first reprint of the Veitch years come out soon. That can only mean that we will finally see the Jesus meets Swamp Thing story.

that Moore taught me with his ST run that a talented writer can turn crap into gold.

8. Len Wein/Bernie Wrightson |

The first 10 issues from 1973 were good, but Moore took a turd and made it into platinum. I'm selling my Wrightson issues on eBay this week with my run of Sandman. We're moving back to Birmingham, AL for grad school, so there will be little time for comics. I'm getting into the JSA now as well as DC: The Final Frontier.
