I was there last week on business. I asked a local what they thought of the movie. He replied that he hasn't seen it yet because it was delayed pending the results of the poll. Naturally, this comment piqued my curiosity.
Apparently, for such "controversial" movies like F-911 or Passion of the Christ, the local cinema holds a poll to determine whether they will show the movie or not!
Wow...that blew my mind. I can't believe that a group of people can determine what others may or may not see.
Thankfully, the good people of Yuma decided they want to see the movie and it will be run there shortly, if not already.
Have any of you ever heard of anything like this?

2. Yuma is a time warp town. Stuck in 1957. |

Big Marine base there, and the town is run by farmers. LOTS of farmers who are wealthy and conservative, and they like their water cheap, thank you very much.
To help matters the anual fly-in of the snowbirds known as "Conservatus Ihopius" in the fall for their annual nesting, adds to the backwardness.
