3 inch sandals? What's up with that?
I just have to ask why women are wearing those sandals and shoes that have a 3 inch sole on them? Do they like to pretend they are taller, are they Kiss fans or do they just like to walk funny? I am curious about that because every time I see a woman wearing those, they are walking like Herman Munster. I would think they are uncomfortable, but what do I know?
My guess is that it has to do with feeling taller, which is strange to me. Can anyone fill me in? And no, this is not my main concern in my life.

1. I don't care for them either.
I don't think they are flattering, but I might just be heading toward curmudgeon-hood. :-)

2. In the seventies
as a teenager I begged my mother to buy me a pair of very pretty platform sandals. I remember walking around the kitchen in them and then my six-foot tall father walked into the room and I towered over him. Then I remembered how many cute boys there were in school who were shorter than my father. I never wore them again.

12. I loved mine in the 70s
cried when they broke. Now wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of platforms.

3. Don't mind that but hate the prominence of flip-flops and slides...
nothing sends me through the roof with annoyance more than that endless "slap-slap-slap-slap" sound of women walking in those shoes. Why does every shoe for women now have to not have a back to them? Was having a back to shoes THAT oppressive?

8. My sister had some of those backless sneakers
I seriously never seen them before and I asked her why she was squishing the back of her shoes. My my my, I am out of step with the fashions.

4. Um, I believe the term is...
... lordosis, if there are bigger heels than soles involved. Look up induced lordosis and ask the question again.... If the soles only are bigger, and the heel is no higher than the toes, then it's likely about just being taller.

9. Haven't you heard that the Herman Munster look is all the rage
for women now? No, not really, but the reason I wear them is because my sturdy peasant ancesters gave me a muscular build with slightly proportionally shorter legs and torso, so I wear them not to appear taller, but to make my legs look longer.
