Ever had a crush on a TV or movie character?
Not on the actor/actress themselves, but the character they play. For example, my wife and I were watching her Buffy DVDs last night, and I commented how I thought Willow was cute in a quirky sort of way. I don't have a thing for Allison Hannigan, though, just Willow.
Same applies to Drew Barrymore's character in the Wedding Singer. I can't stand Drew, but I thought she was a sweetheart in that movie.

Anybody relate, or am I just a goof?

4. Many crushes, many!
I'm still in love with some of them. :)

For instance, Simon Templar, not Roger Moore.
Lee Crane, not David Hedison.
James West, not Robert Conrad.
Kelly Robinson, not Robert Culp.
Alexander Mundy, not Robert Wagner.
James T. Kirk, not Bill Shatner.

Yep, you can even tell what era most of my crushes were from--growing up in the 60s and 70s.

I did eventually develop a crush on some of the actors, but it was the character for each of them which first took hold.

77. Cool!
Are you a big science fiction fan? That's one of my true loves! My current love is Richard Dean Anderson of course, but I've been a fan since before MacGyver.

In high school, we used to have a lot of fun with the many hunks on TV, by creating our own ideal school, with many of them as our teachers. Kelly and Scotty taught geography, Alexander Mundy taught Burglary 101, our "English" teachers were Englishmen, etc. It was fun. :)

Richard Dean Anderson since before MacGyver? From what? Wait a minute, wasn't he in that short-lived series "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"? River Phoenix was in it too.

6. Yes
When I was a kid, I was totally in love with Speed Racer.

As I grew up, however, and flowered, I fell in love with the Vicomte de Valmont character from "Les Liaisons Dangereuses," by Choderlos de Laclos, brought flawlessly to the big screen by John Malkovich in the movie, "Dangerous Liaisons."

I like my men fast and dirty.

from "Pride and Prejudice" - the 1995 version with Colin Firth. I loved this character in the movie and in the book. They're remaking it with Keira Knightley and some other guy, which really kind of irritates me. Most unnecessary remake EVER! It's only been 10 years. x(

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread, LOL! I have seen this excellent version countless times. I have seen Colin Firth in other things, but it's just not the same. This was perfect casting. They're remaking it again?! What a waste of time and money. This version was just excellent.:-)

51. They really missed the boat, didn't they?
the whole Austen movie thing happened in the 90s, so you'd think they would have made a feature film of P & P then. But the miniseries was just so popular., it wasn't necessary :)

64. That's very true. I think they filmed every one of her books at the time
I wondered why they bothered to make a feature film version of "Emma," even though the A & E version was also excellent, but it didn't have the star power of the film. Next to this version of P & P, my other favorite is "Persuasion." If you haven't seen it, it is very well done, though the male lead is hardly a heartthrob, LOL!:D

26. Annie Oakley on TV, back in the 1950's

BROADCAST HISTORY:
Produced; Apr 1953-Dec 1956 (81 Episodes)
Released;January 1954
CAST:
Annie Oakley.........................Gail Davis
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig.......Brad Johnson
Tagg Oakley.........................Jimmy Hawkins

From: "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows" by Tim Brooks and Earle Marsh

Pigtails and pistols were the formula in one of the 1950's more unusual Westerns. Five-foot-two, 95 pounds, and cute as a button, Annie was also a crack shot and the scourge of badmen around her hometown of Diablo, where she lived with her kid brother, Tagg (the rest of the immediate family was unaccounted for). Towering Deputy Lofty Craig was her friend and silent suitor, and Annie's uncle, Luke MacTavish, was the seldom-seen town sheriff. Co-starring were the horses--Annie's Target, Lofty's Forest, and Tagg's Pixie.

the Bug in the first "Men In Black" and the Psycho in "The Cell," he gives me the creeps. He plays creepy characters all too well.

Now Jamey Sheridan's character when he was in John Sayle's "Shannon's Deal" or even better as Devil in "The Stand" in those tight blue jeans (hubba hubba) as just a physical thing, now that's someone I could have a crush on (former) or the hots (the later) for.

72. Had a crush on three...
...MTM's "Laura Petrie", Josie and the Pussycats "Val" (Her slo-mo tambourine shake during the end credits I still find myself hypnotized by), and yes, Hepburn's "Holly Golightly".

YOU try being a writer in NYC (like Peppard's "Paul") and stroll the streets and NOT imagine you had the beautiful Miss Golightly on your arm from time to time.

102. The Character, not the actor
Both Nimoy and Shatner are Aries. But Kirk is a Leo and Spock is a Virgo.

Trust me: I've done horoscopes since Trek's second season:)

88. May Munro
The character Sharon Stone played in "The Specialist!" She looked awesome and dripped with cool!

She had a line right after she punched James Woods in the mouth and he held a gun to her face, "Go ahead! I don't give a shit!" Her voice just dripped with contempt and her grey eyes burned with hate.

I fell in love with May Munro at the moment she was being the biggest bitch!

96. Chris, the DJ in Northern Exposure.
John Corbett is just a cute actor. Chris was certainly good looking, but he was also well-read & articulate (at times). It helped that he was well-read in some of my favorite books.

Crushes from long ago--Ilya Kuriakin & Mr. Spock.

Recently: Another Aragorn fan. (Not that there's anything wrong with Viggo.)

101. I agree on Chris in the Morning...
the character. He was so introspective, earthy, and well read. He discussed culture, art, music, philosophy, etc. What a great character.

I once was lucky to visit the Redmond set of Northern Exposure and watch some filming. John Corbett is even better looking in real life. He seems rather shy, but he is tall and gorgeous.

Even Barry Corbin (Maurice) is good looking in real time.

...and there is nothing wrong with Viggo, indeed. I like him better with blond hair anyway.
