Poll question: Favorite 60's military sitcom.
There were a few and I loved McHales Navy.

I beleive that Sgt. Bilko was in the 50's.

8. Hogan's Heroes

Too bad Bob Crane's killer never got to answer for killing him.

3. Of those mentioned I would have to go with Hogan
But, jeez, it gave the impression that a POW camp was full of fun and hijinks.

9. Have you seen Stalag 17? ...I think it is 17!
Hogan's Heros was based on this movie. It isn't nearly as silly as Hogan's Heros. Actually, it is a really good film.

:hippie:

16. Stalag 17, great movie.
You're right. The even had the precursor to Sgt. Shultz in that movie right down to the robust physique. I don't know if William Holden won an oscar for that movie but he should have.

5. I had a crush on Hogan
when I was little.:loveya:

An interesting factoid: Robert Clary who played LeBeau was an actual Auschwitz survivor. I went to a lecture by him once, and he was pretty incredible.

Wow, I cannot believe McHale's Navy is getting it's ass kicked so badly.

Hogan's Heroes was a great show, too.

7. Other -
You forgot to mention " Ensign O'toole", some light weight fluff about a young Officer on a submarine.

10. "Eeeeeet Eeeeeeeez Ballooooooooooon!"
Sorry...I have a soft spot for "F-Troop"! From that classic theme to the post-modern, hyper-capitalistic relationship between the Hokawees (the original name of the tribe in the pilot was the Fokawees, as in what the "f*ck are we"?) and O'Rourke and Agarn. Kinda smacks of the whole casino thing goin' right now.

I loved that show!

Second place?

SCHULTZ: I know no-thing! No-thing!

LEBEAU: Apple Strudel Schultz?...(WAVES THE STEAMING PASTRY UNDER SCHULTZ'S NOSE)

SCHULTZ: Well...perhaps I know a leeetle something...

Gotta love that conniving (and closet-freaky) Hogan.

11. "Was there any others........."
Although the story line wasn't always about the military, I Dream of Jeannie was in the periphery of the military world. Darren was in the Air Force.

I had to rely on memory. And that can be a dangerous thing.
