I loved Toxicity - not so much their first album

6. Not really
I'm not a fan, but they are definitely not a "nu-metal" band, so to speak. They did get lumped into that whole genre for whatever reason.

I do like Serj Tankian's singing. That's cool. I'd take Iron Maiden circa 1986 any day!

Especially by adding ethnic Armenian music to the mix, too.
As for Maiden...Killers, Number of the Beast and Piece of Mind any day! :yourock:

with or without Peter Kater. American Indian flute I find very soothing. Also, I like Stephen Halpern.

Now for wounding music? I don't have that much time.

29. well but that is Coltrane - sqounking, etc. is ok
I was thinking of the guys unintelligibly screaming their guts out in that thrashy metal stuff. I have a limited tolerance for that, unless it is punky and a bit poppy. Or even spoken word/ Dub will suffice for me since it can be heard. Ah give me Gil Scott Heron or Linton Kwesi Johnson anyday.

31. yes! not in a while though
I love all that stuff. I am an alt-music woman ( jazz and rock and world music) from way back. Actually Sun Ra once sat in a friend of mine's lap at the Village Gate! I think it was the Village Gate. And I count among one of my great concert experiences seeing The Art Ensemble before Lester Bowie died. Sniff. I loved that guy.

37. unfortunately he has passed on, like Sun Ra and Lester
but that was funny. It was appropriate that he sat in this guys lap, since this guy was a really silly person. I don't know if that was a common thing for Ra to do, I only saw him there the one time.

Yeah I have seen some cool shows. I saw Betty Carter speak once, but not in concert. Boo. I saw Geri Allen, too. I also saw Carmen McRae once and Dorothy Donegan in a group show. Wow she was a trip. She's dead too, unfortunately. CAn you tell I like women pianists? All I can say is see these people while you can!

Hope that one day you will have Saturn in your lap. Or at least a rocket in your pocket. ;) silly me

...when I put him on, all the roaches come scurrying out of their lairs (assuming, possibly, that the world is ending), and then my cat eats them. It's quite practical. My cat actually LIKES Al Hedges. Of course he likes to eat roaches too...
