I saw the movie "Control Room" last night about Al-Jazerra TV

Anyone else see it? One major league irony was when they caputured the American soldiers. Napoleon, sorry I mean shrub, looked into the camera and told the world, "I expect them to be treated as we treat the Iraqi prisoners" . . .blah, blah, blah

I wanted to puke.

Good movie though, and we had a good discussion afterward at a hotel across from the theatre.

One of the men at the discussion was a former ABC president of 10 years. When asked about Rupert Murdoch and the trend toward media monopolies, he just shook his head. He said he'd recently had lunch with Murdoch and that the man had his opinions, and if he wanted your's he'd give it to you. (little paraphrasing)

1. YES!!! Incredible film. Very well done. A must see!

This film is every bit as good as "Fahrenheit 9/11," though it's very different, doing some things better by using subtlety where Moore pound people over the head. This is an incredibly powerful film.

Al Jazeera is always presented as this bete noire by our press. It was refreshing to see the people behind it, who are as intelligent as one could wish for television news producers. They were biased, but so what? Like our media isn't...

6. I went to see it again with my wife last night.

It was her first time seeing Control Room, and she found it to be absolutely powerful and incredibly well done. She said, "I can't believe that it doesn't get the same publicity as Fahrenheit 9/11."
