Total friends vibe, of course, I've been outta the game since 2001, so who can tell anymore. Either way she's pretty cool, and I'll probably call her to hang out some time.

1. I"ve been out of the game since 1991 or so
I'm feeling rather out of practice, to put it mildly.:(

3. Well, I was actually married during that time
But together, yes, we were somwhat hermit-like. I think we've gotten to the root of the problem at last, doctor.:)

Or is that it for you?

8. I plan on living here alone in a house filled with cats, books
and old newspapers. Soon I'll start wearing support hose and chasing the neighborhood kids off my weedy lawn with a broom. Soon even the adults will fear me. </sarcasm>

No, actually, I'm wondering if I'll be as awkward at dating as I was when I was younger, thinner and more attractive.

You have nothing to worry about in that department.

to chase off the neighborhood kids with?

11. I've been out of the game forever I think
I stumbled on a few relationships, but I have no idea what I'm doing these days. I am totally lost when it comes to the "game" and I have already come to the realization that it just might end up as me at 80 years old with 75 cats in some apartment building somewhere.

14. Isn't it horrible to think of the future?
Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 12:33 PM by flamingyouth
My god, I'm not getting any younger. Already the waitstaff in my local restaurant call me "that really nice lady who always eats alone while reading and who tips well" or something like that. I overheard them while I was on my way to the restroom last weekend.:D

Maybe we're our own best company. Who knows. All I know is that I'm a complete failure at relationships, so I should probably stay away from all that.

19. Lisa, I was alone with my daughter for what seemed like forever...
I thought I was going to end up like Bette Midler in that movie Stella, standing outside the church, watching her get married. And then a wonderful thing happened, MrG resurfaced in my life...and it's been pretty good ever since.

Things have a way of changing in the blink of an eye. Chin up sweetie!

20. Thanks, Laura
Chin very down today, I'm afraid. I'm feeling very self-pitying and that's not a good thing to do. I'm going to go out and take a walk now - that should lift me up a bit.

On the bright side, between the fact that I'm hardly eating and I'm going to a ton of yoga classes, I actually look halfway decent now.:D

Thanks again.:loveya:

24. I'm sorry you are down Lisa
I guess I shouldn't have talked about the 75 cats :). Like people on here say though..you never know, one day it could just happen...and happen good.

If i'm looking, i find nothing! I always seem to find romance when i'm not looking.

6. Trust me - I don't try
But I mean I can't tell any signs of flirting anymore or anything.

22. There are some books on the subject
From the cheesy hypnotise any girl into bed with you, to some serious works on the subject.

Was there any touching? Did you sit close? Body language is very important. As far as flirting goes - maybe you have to start with the flirting and see what happens.

OTOH - Didn't you say she had a boyfriend yesterday? Not that I'm saying that should stop you...

Good luck

7. You know HEyHEY...MrG and I started out as total friends. If you
had told me at the time that he would become my husband, I'd have laughed...loudly. How thankful I am that I took a second look and let this beautiful, passionate, and trusting relationship grow.

Sometimes the very best of relationships grow out of "just friends". Take your time and enjoy the company.

:hi:

9. Oddly - even if there wasn't the friends vibe
I think she's funny, good-lookin, smart, but there's nothing in me that has any kinda "HEYHEY go for this one"

10. True story here HEyHEY. The first time MrG ever saw me his first
thought was, "Man those pants make her butt look big." He didn't go for me, and I certainly didn't go for him because he was way to polite...personal thoughts aside.

togetherness. And yes, I hit him. There truly is such a thing as being too honest with your partner.

He adores me and thinks twice when revealing these little facts now. ;)

And, on edit: They really were a horrid pair of blue green corduroys.
