My husband couldn't board his flight because he was three minutes late |
|
You have to be at the airport within a certain guideline..I think it is 30 minutes and he was there in 27 and they said..."Nope you can't get on this flight" ...so now he is driving home which will take 5 hours instead of a 40 minute flight and the 50 minute drive home...
Now my husband knows the rules but he has always cut it close...and now he is upset because this is the first time his procrastination caught up with him.

1. Umm.... I'm sorry, I have to ask |
|
Are you gripping about the airline's policy? Or your husband's perpetual tardiness?

3. I should have added that he called me to bitch about it... |
|
and I really don't have any sympathy for him...he knows the rules..I love him and the rules may be kinda goofy but that is not my fault and I really don't want to hear him bitch about it nonstop all weekend...

4. I'm always at the airport way too early |
|
I just have this paranoia about being late to anything, and being late for a flight would cause me to have a full-blown panic attack. I always bring at least two or three books to read.

5. For a Domestic Flight, 30 Min is Awfully Early to Close Up |
|
If he was at the gate 27 minutes before. Boarding usually starts about 30 minutes ahead.
For an international flight, I would understand. I always leave two hours, but once I had to go back for some missing items and only got there 45 minutes beforehand. They had already closed up shop and given my seats away. Luckily, the staff helped us get a later flight.

6. Remember when people would RUN to the gate as the plane was |
|
closing its doors--ALWAYS happened. I wonder how many people are still trying to do that.
Do you think this will get your husband to change his tardy ways????

I'm married to a man who thinks about leaving at about the time he has to be there. Drives me crazy.

12. I'm also curious as to exactly |
|
what part of the airport he was in at 27 minutes to departure. Surely it wasn't the gate itself. And what airport? How long is the hike from the ticket counter to the gate? And how long a security line was there?
I'm a former airline employee, and I, too, remember all too well the days when passengers thought that if they walked through the front door by departure time we should hold the plane for them. Or they'd accuse us of leaving early.
GET THE THE FRIGGIN' AIRPORT ON TIME!!!
Do you think he'll change his ways? Or simply blame the airline for his own tardiness?

13. I get there way early |
|
I have always been paranoid about missing the flight. One time we did almost miss a flight. It was because they changed the gate of our connecting flight to the other side of the airport after we were at the other gate and we didn't realize it right away. Now I always ask at the boarding gate as soon as I get there if I have the right gate if my flight number and destination isn't on their board.
