Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 10:15 PM by buycitgo

using just about ALL the swear words. very liberally, uhhhh

sounds like an HBO movie, or something

isn't he a RW nut, like Dennis Miller?

banter in the locker room:

"Ass cancer?

.....Prostrate"

Who the hell?
If you're talking about Dennis Leary, it looks like a great show. Have you watched it? Has it even started yet?

5. about that cow
there is a recent theory that it was actually a comet that started the fire. there were also fires in wisconsin and michigan that night. very interesting theory.

13. thanks
i actually went to the peshtigo museum 3 years ago. got the t-shirt and all. don't recommend mentioning it if you are from chicago. sensed a little bit of a chip on the ole shoulder there. way worse fire than chicago. the whole thing is very fascinating but unprovable.

saw farenheit in rogers park (west ridge, i think, actually.) took my 2 teenagers. can't beat the brew and view approach, tho.

and thanks for the compliment. i will be updating soon. working on some new stuff.

17. Leary 's major cause is firefighters.
I didn't see him on Colon Quinn, but I wouldn't be surprised if the conversation had a lot to do with that. There was a big fire in Worcester, MA several years ago that killed several firefighters. Leary is from Worcester and has a lot of friends and relatives on the department; one may have been killed in that fire, I don't remember. He gets really pissed off that firefighters often don't have the equipment they need and he's always raising money to get equipment for fire departments.

21. Even if he were a RW nut, I'd still watch the show
Not everything is about politics, and I thought it was a great show.

18. good point; forgot about that
he's overtaken richard pryor, IMO

I saw pryor's live on sunset strip on TV a month or so ago, and was bummed that I didn't think it was as funny as when I saw it in a theater

I never laughed as hard as I did during that, but something's changed

he's still amazing, but Hicks is a true political genius, and at a level that's not in your face

did you ever read that article by John Lahr, I think

wonderful

22. I don't think
Dennis Leary is right wing. He played hockey with Kerry during the primaries, and is a big supporter of the fire fighters, who are pro- Kerry. I would be very surprised if he was.
