GOOD NEWS!!! Remember I asked you guys for some advice about my friend... |
|
... who was sexually active and wasn't taking any precautions?
Well, she is.
Early this morning, I got a call from a friend who was having car trouble and was stranded in George West, TX. Him and his girlfriend were driving down from San Antonio down to the Valley to visit family. I asked my friend to go with me since it was kind of a long drive. We went to George West, met my friends and picked them up, drove to Beeville to O'Reilly's and Auto Zone, got the stuff we needed, stopped to eat at Pizza Hut, and headed back to George West. The car was fixed and they went on their way.
On the way home, me and my friend started talking about stuff and she told me that she WAS taking precautions... she's on birth control... (she didn't just say that; she took the pills out of her purse and showed them to me)... she has been on it for a while, and her boyfriend paid for them. She said she had told me she wasn't taking any precautions because she thought I would think lowly of her, or something. I told her that it was quite the opposite... I am proud that she is being responsible. When we talked on the phone a few days back, she was on a house phone at a relatives house (they were on a trip) and her parents were right there in the room, which is why she didn't tell me what she told me today.
Boy did this take a load off of my mind!
Peace,

that responsibility when it comes to sex is very very cool. Glad you found out your friend was being responsible.

she's halfway there. Unwanted pregnancies can be (largely) avoided, but she should still be more aware of STD's. But it's a great start.

3. Glad to hear she's protecting herself against pregnancy. |
|
Did you talk about STDs at all? Have her and her partner been tested? This is something that could also impact the rest of her life. You'e a good friend and she obviously feels comfortable talking to you, so don't be shy about it.

People should ALWAYS be responsible when having sex! Of course, even 100% use of protection can't fully prevent an unwanted pregnancy, but it's 100% better than nothing. Good for her!
