Where Should I Live When I'm Older?

I've been having trouble trying to figure out where I will live when I get to be an adult. I have moved all my life and I have never really don't have a "home state". I have narrowed down my choices to those below, but suggestions are welcome.

You like cold weather so I suggest colorado or minnesota. Its very beautiful as well, my aunt lives in Boulder. Never been out there myself and I dont like mountains really.

Nothing beats Southern California, whether Orange County or San Diego! Great weather, great people, great living! (although the OC is solid Republican country)

10. Northern California

Move up the coast a bit, and the repubs are such a tiny minority that
they lay low, instead or being obnoxious.

I didn't even see a Bush sticker until we were driving through the
Central Valley on the way to the Sierras last weekend.

13. San Diego or Orange County?

72 degrees and sunny gets you down? You need your head checked! I live in SF and I looove the weather here. I also liked it in San Diego when I lived there. Anywhwere you live like So Cal, the Bay Area, Broward County in FL, Dallas, Austin - any of these metro areas with a a lot of new residents who came for jobs, quality of life, whatever, you will find a lot of anomie, a lack of community which encourages people to act a lot more like a-holes than they normally would.

You might like a more settled population like in Chicago or Minneapolis, but you better visit for a while in the winter first - you may be biting off more than you can chew.

Asheville NC has been mentioned, and while it is progressive and a very beautiful part of the country, it has some of the WORST smog. Just something to be aware of.

15. Orange County

Ya I know it's odd but I really prefer cold weather. I've been trying to get my family to take a vacation in the midwest during the winter, but alas we aren't really the traveling type :(

7. If you like pretty country, go to Colorado

If you like liberal country go to Minnesota. I don't like harsh winters so I don't think I'd enjoy either sate. I live in Ohio and I hate the winters here and they are not as cold as in CO or MN.

12. I live in Virginia, and I really hate it.

Been here 10 years and just don't like the people much. The job situation is good, but northern Virginia traffic is near-gridlock 80% of the time. Richmond is a Civil War museum, and the people are snobbish and/or uneducated. Western Virginia is very pretty geographically.
