Does Jenna Bush want to be a teacher?

I just don't see it. I don't see her being good at it. Of course the only thing I thought that she was good at was partying.

who partied non-stop and became teachers. Anecdotal, I know.

..who party. I know many more who were extreme partiers in their youth.

I just never saw her that way. And while they parited in their youth, they grew up. I don't think Jenna has.

We don't know her personally. I can understand the thinking that she's not mature enough to teach. But that's just the public persona that we've seen.

5. I'd be more interested in her internship...

A well-planned and supervised, progressive series of internships goes far in determining if a particular student has the maturity and aptitude to be a classroom teacher.

8. I got screwed on that.

I made it through my practicums and then I was pulled out of my student teaching two weeks in because they said that "I was not ready." The thing is, they let me get that far and pulled me out. Many of my family, including my aunt who is a teacher thought that it was bullshit and it was political and that they really didn't want to help me to be more effective. I will never try teaching again.


But the thing about Jenna, is mainly based on her persona and the way she is presented. I just couldn't see her teaching. that and she is looked upon unfavorably here.

..and I've seen the political side of them. On the other hand, most internships I've been involved with were good barometers.

I don't know much about Jenna Bush, though. I personally don't like to see her used in the partisan politics game, although now that she's campaigning, I guess she's fair game.

6. It's a natural career choice, actually

as anyone knows, teachers are hard partiers.

Full disclosure: I am a teacher and have been known to party very hard in my day. A few years ago about two weeks before school started, I decided to drink an entire box of wine by myself (yes BOX, ick...). I have NO idea why. I am not even close to being an alcoholic, either. It was just me and my husband. Somehow ended up taking all my clothes off and going around the house just cussing. Then put on a shirt, went outside, tried to sit on the tailgate of my husband's truck, fell off, broke wine glass, cussed, husband dragged me inside.

Dunno. Teachers have to blow off steam somehow. That was a bitch of a hangover, though. Still can't touch that shit in the box, either.

To add: the teachers at my middle school have a yearly tradition of heading to the nearest Mexican food restaurant on the last day of school and ordering margaritas as big as their heads. Then going home and mixing up more.

Teachers aren't some superhumans who never drink or have any fun.

15. Teachers also tell the dirtiest jokes next to nurses....

according to my mother who was a teacher herself/. I'm a teacher too. I can promise you that for all of my twenties and a good part of my thirties I partied. It was almost a stress releaser, because teaching can be a very intense. I use to teach at a school that had beach parties on the shores of the Rio Grande one week, and a few weeks later have Oktoberfest in the mountains. I slowed down once I hit my 40s & 50s. I think I would have slowed down sooner if I had my own kids.

Both my parents were teachers, and I always went along with them to their parties. It was pretty amazing to see how drunk some of the older (well they seemed older at the time they probably weren't much other than I am now) teachers could get, and yet be the same mean ass, strict, prissy old bitches there usually were at school a couple of days later.

After a decade of living without my mother, my father started dating again. He complained to me that he was getting old because it was hard teaching the next day after going out 4 or more times during the week. My father was in his 60s at the time. I felt pretty bad since even in my 20s, Friday, Saturday and an occasional Wednesday were about all I could handle. Also, my dad was getting more dates than I was. ;-)

It's campaign BS, I'd wager... I think she's more suited to some sort of Paris Hilton jet-set binge and purge lifestyle, far removed from common people and sticky children.

things that dems would do not what rethugs do....so I didn't believe it.

effected these kids and their families. Maybe she'll see the light. Or at least I can hope.
