Car warranty question
I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse with approx. 5700 miles on it. Today, it sprung a rather large fuel leak. This should be covered under warranty, right?

1. I would assume so
As long as you have the standard factory warranty. Those normally cover anything mechanical, and I believe that the fuel leak would be considered mechanical.

2. Whatever else happens,
do NOT drive behind a smoker. They like to think that the Earth is an ashtray. x(

If you do, here's what will happen: :nuke:

4. sure
blame it all on smokers!

No, seriously, DON'T DRIVE IT AT ALL!!

My mom had a fuel leak in her car, and she actually drove it three miles to a service station. How she managed to not go up in flames, i'll never know, because they had to steam-clean all the gas off her engine after they fixed the clamp that had come loose on the fuel filter!!

She lost 3/4 a tank of gas in that 3 mile trip!

5. The car has a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty.

I would assume that means anything that goes wrong. It has a further 5 yr drive train, that means anything from the engine to the drive wheels - engine falls out covered. Dashboard falls on your legs - not covered.
