2. Nancy Sinatry, Seal, BR-459... I can't wait. |

We've already purchased our airfare. First class on American Airlines... FREE! Acutally the airfare costs 90,000 frequent flyer miles. But that's almost like free.
Our first four nights at Embassy Suites will be 'free' (not enough Hilton Honors points to cover the entire stay) so we'll have to pay real money for the last two days. Awwww, bummer. (LOL)
Why are vacations more fun when they are (nearly) free?
IM me and we'll see if we can get together for lunch.

3. I am a Bumbershoot veteran! |
|
My first was in 1988, Labor Day. It was a record 99 degrees in Seattle, and I baked in the sun watching some outdoor blues by Johnny Copeland, then cooled off indoors with Little Feat at what was then the Seattle Coliseum.
Back then it was $5.00 for a single day's worth of events, I shit you not.
Many memorable Bumbershoots in '89 and the 90's... saw so many artists from so many genres. It's fantastic.
Have fun!

4. I remember that one, ZombyWoof |

I think I remember it for the heat as much as anything. This week has been almost that hot - really weird.
You should come back for Bumbershoot this year. I'll be back from boating by then and we can even have a beer at the Two Bells, my treat.

But.
Even though I have a paid holiday that weekend, I am on the verge of paying off my only debt.
We need seed money for a house.
I will not go to Seattle until I have a paid vacation next year and can visit all of my old friends. That needs a full week.
Plus, I quit going to Bumbershoot a few years ago because I hate people and I hate crowds.
Bleh.
I will come to Seattle next year when none of the summertime events are going on - no Bite, no Folklife, no Seafair, no Bumbershoot. A narrow window to be sure, but doable.

Make sure to come back to visit us the third week of January, when it is dark and wet and everyone is in a bad mood. You'll feel right at home!

How dare you forget the rules??
My friends aren't people. Just those unwashed masses who smell and are dumb.
