Special Cat Breed Costs $255,000
<snip>

HE costs more than $255,000 and you can't trust him with your curtains, but animal-lovers are going wild about Zeus - a new breed of cat who is much more than your average moggie.

Bred by controversial master cat breeder Esmond Gay, Zeus is one of a kind.

Just 10 per cent domestic kitty and 90 per cent Asian leopard cat, he is the product of careful cross-breeding over 10 years.

The formidable feline is the latest in a line of Bengal cats - the current must-have pet for wealthy cat lovers.

Mr Gay, who breeds the animals in a converted barn in Husborne Crawley, England, is hoping to sell Zeus for more than $255,000.

what's the point of having an article about it with no picture to back up the claim? or spark the interest?

7. The article says they need a lot of attention
More than common domestic cats. Is breeding a cat that needs more attention considered a step forward? If I were Esmond Gay I'd say "Do'h!"

4. Cute kitty, but I'd rather have the love I get from my 2 mutts
Abbott and Evita. Their love is worth a hell of alot more than $250k

8. With all due respect,
I think animals that come from a shelter are the best.

9. Someone has too much money, and
time, and needs a hobby. Of the many things I could think of to do with $255,000....buying a cat would not be one of them.

The world is full of wonderful cats that need good homes, and you can get them for the price of responsible care.
