I am so sore today.

We spent all weekend cleaning & sorting. We are renting one of those tow away dumpsters & getting our house & yard cleaned up.
We did so much work over the last few days, but have so much left to do.
It is amazing what you can accumulate in 12 years.

1. oh my god, us too...

we're getting ready to move, and my husband's lived here for 10 years (me, only 5) but the STUFF HE HAS ACQUIRED is amazing. I've got junk, too, but tend to clean out relatively regularly; he's a pack rat of major proportions. Sigh.

So much to do.

2. I moved as well.

Normally, I'm a pack rat. This weekend I went through and threw out things that I had no use for. Seven garbage bags and a relative taking most of my heavy furniture back to storage later, I was able to fit most of what I really need into one old Lincoln Town Car.

3. Can you give me an idea what one of those dumpsters rents for?

Just a ballpark estimate, if you don't mind. I've been thinking about doing the same thing for a while, but never get around to doing the research.

4. It is costing us just over $100 total.

The tote is $90 & there is a $17 dump fee for each ton. I don't think ours will be over a ton. There is also a $10 extra charge for certain appliances.

5. I cleaned out my mother-in-law's house that way.

Dropped it next to the window, took out the window, and we "cleaned house". The only serious way to do it, IMHO.

6. How much for the armed guard?

In my old neighbourhood, you could have a 16-yd roll-off delivered at 3PM and by 8AM the next morning it would be full of everyone else's crap.

7. Moving is the worst

We had way too many books, records, DVDs, etc. It was completely insane packing it, moving it, and unpacking. I'll never leave this house!!:D
